Mark 12:13
પાછળથી, યહૂદિ આગેવાનોએ કેટલાક ફરોશીઓને અને હેરોદીઓના નામે જાણીતા સમુહમાંથી કેટલાક માણસોએ ઈસુ પાસે મોકલ્યા. તેઓ ઈસુને કઈક ખોટું કહેતા પકડવા ઈચ્છતા હતા.

તેથી શાસ્ત્રીઓ અને યાજકોએ ઈસુને પકડવાના યોગ્ય સમયની રાહ જોવા લાગ્યા. તેઓએ કેટલાએક માણસોને ઈસુ પાસે મોકલ્યા. તેઓએ આ માણસોને તેઓ સારા હોય તે રીતે વર્તવા કહ્યું. ઈસુ જે કંઈ કહે તેમાં કંઈક ખોટું શોધવા તેઓ ઈચ્છતા હતા, જો તેઓ કંઈ ખોટું શોધી કાઢે તો પછી તેઓ ઈસુને શાસનકર્તાને સોંપી શકે જેની પાસે સત્તા અને અધિકાર હતા.

ઈસુને કંઈ ખોટું બોલતાં પકડી શકાય તે માટે તક શોધવાનો તેઓ પ્રયત્ન કરતા હતા.

પછી ફરોશીઓ ઈસુ જ્યાં ઉપદેશ આપતો હતો તે જગ્યા છોડી ચાલ્યા ગયા અને એક સભા બોલાવીને ઈસુને પ્રશ્નો દ્વારા ફસાવવાનું નક્કી કર્યુ.

યશાયા 29:21
જેઓ બીજાને ગુનેગાર ઠરાવવા માટે ખોટી સાક્ષી આપનારા, ન્યાયાધીશોને લાંચ આપવાનો પ્રયત્ન કરનારા, તથા પાયા વગરની દલીલથી નિદોર્ષને ન્યાય મળતો રોકનારા નાશ પામ્યા હશે.
