Jeremiah 44:21
“તમે તથા તમારા વડીલો તથા તમારા રાજાઓ અને સરદારો તેમજ દેશના બધા લોકો યહૂદિયાના નગરોમાં અને યરૂશાલેમના મહોલ્લાઓમાં મૂર્તિઓ આગળ ધૂપ બાળતા હતાં, તને લાગે છે કે તેને તે યાદ નથી? ચોક્કસ, તે આ બધું તેના મનમાં રાખે છે.

અમે જે જે કરવાની પ્રતિજ્ઞા કરી છે તે જ અમે ચોક્કસ કરીશું. અમે અને અમારા વડીલો, અમારા રાજાઓ અને અમારા આગેવાનો જેમ યહૂદિયાના ગામોમાં અને યરૂશાલેમમાં થાય છે, તેમ આકાશની સમ્રાજ્ઞીને બલિદાન, અર્પણો અને પેયાર્પણો ચઢાવતા રહીશું. તે વખતે અમને જોઇએ તેટલું ખાવા મળતું હતું, અમે ઘણા સુખી અને સમૃદ્ધ હતા.
