Jeremiah 36:4
તેથી યમિર્યાએ નેરિયાના પુત્ર બારૂખને બોલાવ્યો અને યમિર્યાએ લખાવ્યું તે પ્રમાણે બારૂખે બધા ભવિષ્યવચનો લખ્યાં.

ત્યારબાદ યમિર્યાએ બીજું ઓળિયું લીધું અને નેરિયાના પુત્ર બારૂખ લહિયાને લખવા આપ્યું. પછી પહેલાં લખાયું હતું તે સર્વ તેણે બારૂખને ફરીથી લખાવ્યું, પરંતુ આ વખતે યહોવાએ તેમાં ઘણાં વચનો ઉમેર્યા.

નેરિયાના પુત્ર બારૂખે અમારી વિરુદ્ધ કાવતરું કર્યું છે અને આ પ્રમાણે અમને કહેવા તને જણાવ્યું છે, જેથી અમે અહીં વસવાટ કરીએ અને બાબિલનું સૈન્ય આવે ત્યારે તે અમને મારી નાખે અથવા ગુલામો તરીકે અમને બાબિલ લઇ જાય.”

“બીજું ઓળિયું લઇને તેના પર યહૂદિયાના રાજા યહોયાકીમે બાળી મૂકેલા પહેલાના ઓળિયામાં જે લખ્યું હતું તે બધું લખી કાઢ.

પછી રાજાએ બારૂખ તથા યમિર્યાને પકડવા માટે યરાહમએલને, આઝીએલના પુત્ર સરાયાને તથા આબ્દએલના પુત્ર શેલેમ્યાને મોકલ્યા. પરંતુ યહોવાએ તેઓને સંતાડી રાખ્યા હતા.
ચર્મિયા 36:23
યેહૂદી ત્રણચાર ફકરા વાંચી રહે એટલે રાજા લહિયાની છરીથી તેટલો ભાગ કાપી લઇ બળતા લાકડામાં નાખી દેતો. આમને આમ આખું ઓળિયું સગડીમાં હોમાઇ ગયું.

રાજાએ યેહૂદીને ઓળિયું લઇ આવવા મોકલ્યો, યેહૂદી તે ઓળિયું મંત્રી અલીશામાની ઓરડીમાંથી લઇ આવ્યો અને રાજાને તે વાંચીને સંભળાવ્યું. તે વખતે બધા અમલદારો રાજાની આજુબાજુ ઊભેલા હતા.

પરંતુ પહેલા તું અમને જણાવ કે, આ સંદેશાઓ તારી પાસે કેવી રીતે આવ્યા: “શું યમિર્યાએ પોતે આ સંદેશાઓ તને લખાવ્યા હતા?”
