Jeremiah 21:4
ઇસ્રાએલનો દેવ યહોવા આ પ્રમાણે કહે છે; ‘કોટની બહાર ઘેરો ઘાલીને પડેલા બાબિલના રાજા અને તેની સૈના સામે તમારા જે યોદ્ધાઓ લડી રહ્યા છે, તેમણે પાછા હઠી શહેરની મધ્યમાં આવવું પડશે.

ચર્મિયા 33:5
“તેઓ બાબિલની વિરુદ્ધ લડાઇ કરશે, પણ પછી તેઓ એ લોકોના મૃત દેહથી પોતાના ઘરોને ભરી દેશે. જેઓને મે ગુસ્સાથી મારી નાખ્યા છે. આવું બનશે કારણકે, તેમણે આચરેલા દુષ્કૃત્યોને લીધે મેં આ નગર છોડી દીધું છે.
યશાયા 13:4
સાંભળો! પર્વતો પર મોટી મેદનીનો કોલાહલ સંભળાય છે! ભેગા થતાં રાજ્યોનો અને પ્રજાઓનો શોરબકોર સાંભળો! સૈન્યોના દેવ યહોવા, યુદ્ધ માટે સૈન્યોને ભેગાં કરે છે.
યશાયા 5:5
માટે હવે સાંભળો, મારી દ્રાક્ષનીવાડીનું હું શું કરીશ તે તમને કહું છું:હું એના વાડાઓ કાઢી અને તેનો નાશ થવા દઇશ, હું એના વાડાઓ તોડી નાખીશ, તેને પગ નીચે કચડાવી દઇશ.

કારણકે યહોવા બધી પ્રજાઓને યરૂશાલેમ સામે યુદ્ધે ચઢવા ભેગી કરશે, નગર કબજે કરવામાં આવશે. ઘરો લૂંટી લેવામાં આવશે અને સ્ત્રીઓને ષ્ટ કરવામાં આવશે; અડધું નગર દેશવટે જશે, પરંતુ બાકીના લોકો નગરમાં જ રહેશે.

“આ યહોવાના વચન છે: ‘જે કોઇ આ નગરમાં રહેશે તે યુદ્ધ, દુકાળ કે રોગચાળાથી મૃત્યુ પામશે, પણ જે કોઇ બાબિલવાસીઓને શરણે જવા બહાર ચાલ્યો જશે તે બચવા પામશે, કઇઁં નહિ તો તે જીવતો તો રહેશે જ.’

રાજા ખૂબ ગુસ્સે થયો અને રાજાએ તેનું લશ્કર મોકલ્યું. તેઓએ પેલા લોકોને મારી નાખ્યા. અને તેમના શહેરને બાળી નાખ્યું.

તેઓ કદાચ બાળકો ઉછેરશે, તો પણ હું તેમને હળી લઇશ. એકનેય હું જીવતું રહેવા દઇશ નહિ. હું તમારી વિમુખ થઇશ અને તમને એકલા તરછોડી દઇશ. તે દિવસ ઘણો દુ:ખદ હશે.

યુદ્ધમાં કપાઇને પડ્યા વગર કે કેદ પકડાઇ નીચી મૂંડીએ ઘસડાયા વિના તમારો છૂટકો જ નથી. તમારા કમોર્ને લીધે યહોવાનો રોષ નહિ ઉતરે. તેનો હાથ હજી ઉગામેલો જ રહેશે.
