Isaiah 13:8
તેઓ દુ:ખ અને વેદના અનુભવશે, પ્રસવવેદના ભોગવતી સ્ત્રી જેમ તેઓ કષ્ટ પામશે; તેઓ ગભરાઇ જશે અને ડરથી એકબીજા સામે અનિમેષ ષ્ટિથી જોયા કરશે.

“જ્યારે કોઈ સ્ત્રી બાળકને જન્મ આપે છે ત્યારે, તેને પીડા થાય છે કારણ કે તેનો સમય આવ્યો છે. પણ જ્યારે તેના બાળકનો જન્મ થાય છે, તે પીડા ભૂલી જાય છે. તે ભૂલી જાય છે કારણ કે બાળકનો જન્મ આ જગતમાં થયો હોવાથી તે ઘણી પ્રસન્ન હોય છે.

તમારી જાતને પૂછો, વિચાર કરો કે કોઇ પુરુષ બાળકને જન્મ આપી શકે? તો પછી હું કેમ દરેક માણસને પ્રસૂતિએ આવેલી સ્ત્રીની જેમ કમરે હાથ દેતો જોઉં છું? બધાના ચહેરા કેમ બદલાઇ ગયા છે, ધોળા પૂણી જેવા થઇ ગયા છે?

હું કોઇની પ્રસવવેદનાની ચીસ જેવી ચીસ સાંભળું છું. પ્રથમ બાળકને જન્મ આપતી વખતે પ્રસૂતિની વેદનાથી કષ્ટાતી સ્ત્રીના સાદ જેવો અવાજ મેં સાંભળ્યો છે. એ તો મારા લોકોનો અવાજ છે. તેઓ હાંફી ગયા છે તેઓ પોતાના હાથને ખેંચી રહ્યા છે અને રડે છે, “અમે ડૂબી ગયા છીએ, અમારો સંહાર કરી રહ્યા છે, તેની સામે અમે બેભાન થઇ રહ્યા છીએ.”
ગીતશાસ્ત્ર 48:5
જ્યારે તેઓએ તે જોયું ત્યારે તેઓ સૌ વિસ્મય પામી ગયા, ભયથી ગભરાઇ ગયાં તેથી ઝડપથી પાછા ચાલ્યા ગયા.
