રાજાએ કહ્યું, “હે દાનિયેલ, સાચે જ તારા દેવ સર્વ દેવોનાં દેવ છે, તે રાજાઓ ઉપર રાજ કરે છે અને રહસ્યોને ખુલ્લા કરનાર, જણાવનાર છે. તેમણે જ તારી સામે આ રહસ્ય પ્રગટ કર્યું છે.”

પણ જ્યારે દેવના માંણસ એલિશાના જાણવામાં આવ્યુ કે ઇસ્રાએલના રાજાએ પોતાનાં વસ્ત્ર ફાડયાં છે, ત્યારે તેણે તેને સંદેશો મોકલ્યો: “તું શા માંટે ગભરાઈ ગયો છે? તું નામાંનને માંરી પાસે મોકલ, એટલે એ જાણશે કે અહીં ઇસ્રાએલમાં યહોવાનો એક સાચો પ્રબોધક છે.”

તેણે પોતાની શેઠાણીને કહ્યું, “હું ઇચ્છું છું કે, ઇશ્વર કરે ને માંરા શેઠ પ્રબોધક પાસે સમરૂનમાં જાય, તેઓ તેના ચામડીના રોગનો ઇલાજ કરશે!”
