તે વખતે લેવીઓ યહોવાની આરાધના કરતા હતા. ગાયકગણમાં આસાફ, હેમાન, યદૂથૂન અને તેઓના સર્વ પુત્રો અને ભાઇઓ હતા. તેઓ સફેદ શણના ઝભ્ભા પહેરીને વેદીની પૂર્વ બાજુએ ઊભા હતા. તેઓ સંગીતનાં સાધનો વગાડતા હતા. રણશિંગડા વગાડતા 120 યાજકો તેઓની સાથે હતા.

યહોવાના મંદિર માટે સુલેમાને ઠરાવેલા બધાં કામ પૂરાં થયા ત્યારે તેણે પોતાના પિતા દાઉદે યહોવાને સમપિર્ત કરેલી તમામ ભેટો સોનું, ચાંદી અને બીજી બધી સામગ્રી લાવીને દેવના મંદિરના ભંડારમાં મૂકી દીધી.

સુલેમાંને ઇસ્રાએલના બધાજ વડીલો અને ઇસ્રાએલના દરેક કુળમાંથી બધાજ અગ્રણીઓને યરૂશાલેમ બોલાવ્યા. જેથી તેઓ યહોવાનું ઇસ્રાએલ સાથેનું વિશેષ કરારનામું દર્શાવતો પવિત્રકોશ દાઉદના નગરમાંથી જે સિયોન પણ કહેવાય છે ત્યાંથી લાવી શકે.

પરંતુ દાઉદે તો સિયોનનો ગઢ કબજે કર્યો, જે પછીથી દાઉદનું નગર બની ગયું.

અને જયારે કરારકોશને નીચે મૂકવામાં આવતો ત્યારે તે કહેતો; “લાખો ઇસ્રાએલીઓ વચ્ચે, હે યહોવા, પાછા પધારજો.”

અને હોબાબ સંમત થયો, ત્યારબાદ તેમણે યહોવાના સિનાઈ પર્વતથી નીકળી ત્રણ દિવસ યાત્રા કરી. તે ત્રણે દિવસ દરમ્યાન યહોવાના પવિત્ર કોશ તેમને માંટે મુકામ કરવાની જગ્યા શોધવા સૌથી આગળ રહેતો.
