બરાબર તેમના કુટુંબી હારુનના વંશજોની માફક આ કુટુંબોમાં પણ મોટા અને નાના કુટુંબનો ભેદ રાખ્યા વિના ચિઠ્ઠીઓ ફેંકીને તેમની ફરજો નક્કી કરવામાં આવી હતી. આ બંધુ રાજા દાઉદ, સાદોક, અહીમેલેખ અને યાજકોના આગેવાનોની અને લેવીઓનાં કુટુંબને સાક્ષી રાખીને કરવામાં આવ્યું હતું.
