જે સર્વ આજ્ઞાઓ મૂસાએ યહોશુઆને આપી હતી, તે પ્રમાંણે જે કઈ લોકોને ફરમાંવવાનું યહોવાએ યહોશુઓને કહ્યું હતું તે સધળું પૂરું થયું ત્યાં સુધી યાજકો કરારકોશ સાથે યર્દન નદીની વચ્ચોવચ્ચ ઊભા રહ્યા. અને લોકો ઉતાવળ કરીને નદી પાર કરી ગયા.

યહોશુઆ 3:16
પાણી બંધની જેમ પાછળ એકઠું થયું, છેક ઉદ્દગમ સ્થાન આદામ, સારેથાન પાસેનાં શહરે તરફ અને ખારા સમુદ્ર તરફ વહેતાં રોકી દેવાયા હતાં. પછી લોકોએ યરીખો નજીક યર્દન નદી ઓળંગી.

મૂસાએ આ નિયમ લખીને યહોવાના કરારકોશ ઉપાડનાર લેવી યાજકોને અને બધા આગેવાનોને પણ તે નિયમની એક એક નકલ આપી.

પરંતુ લોકો પાસે લોટમાં ખમીર નાખવાનો સમય ન હતો, તેથી મિસરથી જે લોટ લાવ્યા હતા તેની બેખમીર રોટલી બનાવી. આથો ચડયો નહોતો, કારણ કે તેમને મિસરમાંથી એકદમ હાંકી કાઢવામાં આવ્યા હતા; તેમને ભાથું તૈયાર કરવાનો પણ સમય મળ્યો નહોતો.
