1 At that time Jesus went through the fields on the Sabbath day; and his disciples, being in need of food, were taking the heads of grain.તે સમયે, ઈસુ વિશ્રામવારે પોતાના શિષ્યો સાથે અનાજના ખેતરોમાંથી જતો હતો. તેના શિષ્યો ભૂખ્યા થયા હતા. તેથી તેઓ અનાજના કણસલાં તોડી ખાવા લાગ્યા.

2 But the Pharisees, when they saw it, said to him, See, your disciples do that which it is not right to do on the Sabbath.ફરોશીઓએ આ જોયું અને તેમણે ઈસુને કહ્યું: “જો! તારા શિષ્યો શાસ્ત્રના નિયમનો ભંગ કરે છે. અને અનાજના કણસલાં તોડે છે જે વિશ્રામવારે કરવાની મનાઈ છે.”

3 But he said to them, Have you no knowledge of what David did when he had need of food, and those who were with him?ઈસુએ તેમને કહ્યું, “શું તમે વાંચ્યું છે કે જ્યારે દાઉદ અને તેના સાથીદારો ભૂખ્યા થયા હતા ત્યારે દાઉદે શું કર્યુ હતું?

4 How he went into the house of God and took for food the holy bread which it was not right for him or for those who were with him to take, but only for the priests?દાઉદ દેવના ઘરમાં ગયો હતો અને દેવને અર્પેલી રોટલી ખાવાની છૂટ ફક્ત યાજકોને હોય છે તે તેણે ખાધી હતી. આ નિયમશાસ્ત્રનો ભંગ ન હતો?

5 Or is it not said in the law, how the Sabbath is broken by the priests in the Temple and they do no wrong?શું મૂસાના નિયમશાસ્ત્રમાં તમે કદીયે વાચ્યું નથી? વિશ્રામવારે ફરજ પાલન કરનારા યાજકો નિયમનો ભંગ કરે અને છતાં પણ તેમને દોષિત ગણાવતા નથી?

6 But I say to you that a greater thing than the Temple is here.હું તમને કહું છું, અહીં એવું કોઈક છે કે જે મંદિર કરતાં પણ મોટો છે.

7 But if these words had been in your minds, My desire is for mercy and not for offerings, you would not have been judging those who have done no wrong.શાસ્ત્રો કહે છે, ‘મારે પ્રાણીના યજ્ઞો નથી જોઈતા; પણ હું લોકોમાં દયા ચાહું છું’ તમે જો શાસ્ત્રોના આ શબ્દોના સાચા અર્થો સમજતા હોત તો જેઓ નિર્દોષ છે, તેઓને દોષિત ન ઠરાવત.

8 For the Son of man is lord of the Sabbath.“આ માણસનો દીકરો વિશ્રામવારનો પણ પ્રભુ છે.”

9 And he went from there into their Synagogue:ઈસુ ત્યાંથી નીકળીને તેઓના સભાસ્થાનમાં આવ્યો.

10 And there was a man with a dead hand. And they put a question to him, saying, Is it right to make a man well on the Sabbath day? so that they might have something against him.ત્યાં સભાસ્થાનમાં એક વ્યક્તિ હતી જેનો હાથ અપંગ હતો. તેથી લોકોએ ઈસુને પૂછયું, “શું નિયમશાસ્ત્ર અનુસાર વિશ્રામવારે કોઈને સાજો કરવો એ શું યોગ્ય ગણાય?”

11 And he said to them, Which of you, having a sheep, if it gets into a hole on the Sabbath day, will not put out a helping hand and get it back?ઈસુએ ઉત્તર આપ્યો, “ધારો કે તમારી પાસે એક ઘેટું હોય અને વિશ્રામવારે તે ખાડામાં પડી ગયું હોય તો શું તમે તેને પકડી ખાડામાંથી બહાર નહિ કાઢો?

12 Of how much more value is a man than a sheep! For this reason it is right to do good on the Sabbath day.ઘેટાં કરતાં મનુષ્ય વધારે મૂલ્યવાન છે, માટે વિશ્રામવારે ભલાઈનાં કામ કરવાની નિયમશાસ્ત્ર અનુસાર મંજૂરી હોય છે.”

13 Then said he to the man, Put out your hand. And he put it out, and it was made as well as the other.પછી ઈસુએ પેલા માણસને કહ્યું, “તારો હાથ મને જોવા દે.” તે માણસે પોતાને હાથ ઈસુ પાસે ધર્યો કે તરત જ તેનો હાથ બીજા હાથ જેવો થઈ ગયો.

14 But the Pharisees went out and made designs against him, how they might put him to death.ફરોશીઓ ત્યાંથી ચાલ્યા ગયા અને ઈસુને મારી નાખવાની યોજના બનાવી.

15 And Jesus, having knowledge of this, went away from there, and a great number went after him; and he made them all well,ફરોશીઓ શું કરવાના છે, તેની ઈસુને જાણ થઈ. તેથી ઈસુ તે જગ્યા છોડી ચાલ્યો ગયો. ઘણા લોકો તેની પાછળ ગયા. ઈસુએ બધા જ બિમાર લોકોને સાજા કર્યા.

16 Ordering them not to give people word of him:ઈસુએ લોકોને ચેતવણી આપી કે તે કોણ હતો, તે બીજા લોકોને કહેવું નહિ.

17 So that what was said by Isaiah the prophet might come true,આમ બન્યુ, જેથી યશાયા પ્રબોધકના શબ્દો સાચા પુરવાર થયા,

18 See my servant, the man of my selection, my loved one in whom my soul is well pleased: I will put my Spirit on him, and he will make my decision clear to the Gentiles.“જુઓ, આ મારો સેવક છે; જેને મેં પસંદ કર્યો છે; હું તેને પ્રેમ કરું છું અને એનાથી હું સંતુષ્ટ છું; હું મારો આત્મા તેનામાં મૂકીશ, અને તે બધા દેશોના લોકોનો ન્યાય કરશે.

19 His coming will not be with fighting or loud cries; and his voice will not be lifted up in the streets.તે વાદવિવાદ કરશે નહિ કે બૂમો પાડશે નહિ; લોકો તેને શેરીઓમાં ઊંચા અવાજે બોલતો સાંભળશે નહિ.

20 The crushed stem will not be broken by him; and the feebly burning light will he not put out, till he has made righteousness overcome all.કારણ કે ન્યાયનો વિજય ન થાય ત્યાં સુધી બરું જેવા કમજોરને તે કચડી નાખશે નહિ; કે મંદ મંદ સળગતી જ્યોતને તે હોલવી નાખશે નહિં. બધા જ દેશોને ન્યાયનો વિજય થશે ત્યાં સુધી પોતાનું કાર્ય ચાલુ રાખશે.

21 And in his name will the Gentiles put their hope.બધા જ રાષ્ટ્રોના લોકો તેનામાં આશા રાખશે.” યશાયા 42:1-4

22 Then they took to him one with an evil spirit, who was blind and had no power of talking: and he made him well so that he had the power of talking and seeing.પછી કેટલાએક માણસો એક માણસને ઈસુ પાસે લાવ્યા. તે અંધ હતો અને બોલી પણ શકતો ન હતો, કારણ તેનામાં ભૂત હતું. ઈસુએ તેને સાજો કર્યો. તે માણસ બોલતો થયો અને દેખતો પણ થયો.

23 And all the people were surprised and said, Is not this the Son of David?બધા જ લોકો આશ્ર્ચર્યમુગ્ધ થઈ ગયા અને કહેવા લાગ્યા કે, “તે (ઈસુ) દાઉદનો દીકરો હોય તેમ બની શકે! જેને દેવે આપણી પાસે મોકલવાનું વચન આપ્યું છે!”

24 But the Pharisees, hearing of it, said, This man only sends evil spirits out of men by Beelzebub, the ruler of evil spirits.જ્યારે ફરોશીઓએ સાંભળ્યું ત્યારે કહેવા લાગ્યા, “ઈસુ ભૂતોના રાજા બઆલઝબૂલની મદદથી ભૂતોને હાંકી કાઢે છે.”

25 And having knowledge of their thoughts he said to them, Every kingdom having division in itself is made waste, and every town or house having division in itself will come to destruction.ઈસુને જ્યારે તેમના વિચારોની જાણ થઈ, ત્યારે ઈસુએ કહ્યું, “દરેક રાજ્ય અંદરો અંદર લડે તો તેનો નાશ થાય છે. દરેક શહેરમાં જ્યારે ભાગલા પડે તો તે લાંબો સમય ટકી શકતું નથી. તેમ દરેક કુટુંબમાં પણ ભાગલા પડે તો તે કુટુંબ ઊભું રહી શકે નહિ.

26 And if Satan sends out Satan, he makes war against himself; how then will he keep his kingdom?તે રીતે જો શેતાન શેતાનને હાંકી કાઢે તો તેના પોતાનાથી જ છૂટો પડે તો પછી તેનું રાજ્ય કેવી રીતે ટકાવી શકે.

27 And if I by Beelzebub send evil spirits out of men, by whom do your sons send them out? So let them be your judges.તમે કહો છો કે ભૂતોને કાઢી મૂકવા હૂં બાલઝબૂલનો ઉપયોગ કરું છું, જો એ સાચુ હોય તો તમારા લોકો ભૂતોને હાંકી કાઢવા કઈ શક્તિનો ઉપયોગ કરે છે? આથી તમારા લોકો જાતે જ સાબિત કરે છે કે, તમે ખોટા છો.

28 But if I by the Spirit of God send out evil spirits, then is the kingdom of God come on you.પણ હું તો ભૂતોને કાઢવા દેવના આત્માના સાર્મથ્યનો ઉપયોગ કરું છું. જે બતાવે છે કે હવે દેવનું રાજ્ય તમારી નજીક આવી રહ્યું છે.

29 Or how may one go into a strong man's house and take his goods, if he does not first put cords round the strong man? and then he may take his goods.જો કોઈએ બળવાનના ઘરમાં પ્રવેશ કરવો હોય અને તેની વસ્તુઓ ચોરી લેવી હોય તો, પહેલા તો બળવાન માણસને તમારે બાંધી દેવો જોઈએ, પછી જ તે માણસના ઘરમાં કોઈપણ વ્યક્તિ તેની વસ્તુઓની ચોરી કરી શકે છે.

30 Whoever is not with me is against me; and he who does not take part with me in getting people together, is driving them away.જો જે વ્યક્તિ મારી સાથે નથી તો તે મારી વિરૂદ્ધમાં છે. જે મારી સાથે કામ કરી શકતો નથી, તે મારી વિરૂદ્ધમાં કામ કરે છે.

31 So I say to you, Every sin and every evil word against God will have forgiveness; but for evil words against the Spirit there will be no forgiveness.“તેથી હું કહું છું, લોકોએ કરેલું દરેક પાપ અને પ્રત્યેક દુર્ભાષણ આ બધુજ માફ થઈ શકે છે. પણ જે કોઈ માણસ પવિત્ર આત્માની વિરૂદ્ધ જે દુર્ભાષણ કરે છે તે માણસને માફ નહિ કરાશે.

32 And whoever says a word against the Son of man, will have forgiveness; but whoever says a word against the Holy Spirit, will not have forgiveness in this life or in that which is to come.કોઈ માણસના દીકરાની વિરૂદ્ધ બોલે તો તેને માફ થઈ શકે, પરંતુ કોઈ પવિત્ર આત્માની વિરૂદ્ધ બોલે તો તે વ્યક્તિને માફ કરી શકાય નહિ. આ યુગમાં પણ નહિ, ને આવનાર યુગમાં પણ નહિ.

33 Make the tree good, and its fruit good; or make the tree bad, and its fruit bad; for by its fruit you will get knowledge of the tree.“જો તમારે સારું ફળ જોઈતું હોય તો સારું વૃક્ષ રોપવું જોઈએ, તમારું વૃક્ષ સારું નહિ હોય તો તેને ખરાબ ફળ મળશે. વૃક્ષની ઓળખાણ તેના ફળથી જાણી શકાય છે.

34 You offspring of snakes, how are you, being evil, able to say good things? because out of the heart's store come the words of the mouth.ઓ સર્પોના વંશ, તમે જ ખરાબ હો તો સારી વાત કેવી રીતે કરી શકો? તમારા હૃદયમાં જે કાંઈ ભર્યુ છે તે જ મુખ બોલે છે.

35 The good man out of his good store gives good things; and the evil man out of his evil store gives evil things.સારા માણસના હૃદયમાં સારી વસ્તુ સંધરેલી હોય તો તે સારું જ ખોલે છે. પણ જો દુષ્ટના હૃદયમાં ખરાબ વાત સંઘરેલી હોય તો તેને હોઠે ખરાબ વાત જ બોલાય છે.

36 And I say to you that in the day when they are judged, men will have to give an account of every foolish word they have said.પણ હું તમને કહું છું કે ન્યાયકાળે દરેક વ્યક્તિએ તેણે બોલેલા પ્રત્યેક અવિચારી શબ્દ માટે ઉત્તર આપવો પડશે.

37 For by your words will your righteousness be seen, and by your words you will be judged.તમે બોલેલા શબ્દોના આધારે જ તમારો ન્યાય કરવામાં આવશે, તમારી કહેલી કેટલીક વાતો તમને નિર્દોષ ઠરાવશે. અને તમારી કહેલી કેટલીક વાતો તમને દોષિત કરાવશે.”

38 Then some of the scribes and Pharisees, hearing this, said to him, Master, we are looking for a sign from you.એક દિવસે કેટલાક ફરોશીઓ અને શાસ્ત્રીઓ ઈસુની પાસે આવ્યા. તેમણે કહ્યું, “ઉપદેશક, અમને નિશાનીરૂપે કંઈ ચમત્કાર કરી બતાવ.”

39 But he, answering, said to them, An evil and false generation is looking for a sign; and no sign will be given to it but the sign of the prophet Jonah:ઈસુએ કહ્યું, “દેવળ દુષ્ટ અને અવિશ્વાસી લોકો જ નિશાની તરીકે ચમત્કારની માંગણી કરે છે. પરંતુ યૂના પ્રબોધકની નિશાની સિવાય બીજી કોઈ નિશાની અપાશે નહિ.

40 For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the stomach of the great fish, so will the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.જેમ યૂના ત્રણ દિવસ અને ત્રણ રાત મોટી માછલીના પેટમાં રહ્યો તેમ માણસનો દોકરો પૃથ્વીના પેટમાં ત્રણ દિવસ અને ત્રણ રાત રહેશે.

41 The men of Nineveh will come up in the day of judging and give their decision against this generation: because they were turned from their sins at the preaching of Jonah; and now a greater than Jonah is here.ન્યાયકાળે નિનવેહના લોકો આજની પેઢીના તમારા લોકો સાથે ઊભા રહેશે, અને તમને દોષિત ઠરાવશે. કેમ કે જ્યારે યૂનાએ તેઓને ઉપદેશ આપ્યો, ત્યારે તેઓએ પસ્તાવો કર્યો અને પોતાના ખરાબ માર્ગ છોડી દઈ દેવની તરફ વળ્યા. પણ જુઓ યૂના કરતાં અહીં એક મોટો છે તો પણ તમે તેના પર વિશ્વાસ કરવાનો ઈન્કાર કરો છો.

42 The queen of the South will come up in the day of judging and give her decision against this generation: for she came from the ends of the earth to give ear to the wisdom of Solomon; and now a greater than Solomon is here.“ન્યાયના દિવસે શેબાની રાણી આજની પેઢીના તમારા લોકો સાથે ઊભી રહેશે કારણ કે ઘણે દૂરથી સુલેમાનનું જ્ઞાન સાંભળવા આવી હતી. અહીં સુલેમાન કરતાં પણ એક મોટો છે.

43 But the unclean spirit, when he is gone out of a man, goes through dry places looking for rest, and getting it not.“અશુદ્ધ આત્મા માણસમાંથી નીકળ્યા પછી ઉજજડ સ્થળોએ વિસામો શોધતો ફરે છે પણ એને એવું કોઈજ સ્થળ વિસામા માટે મળતું નથી.

44 Then he says, I will go back into my house from which I came out; and when he comes, he sees that there is no one in it, but that it has been made fair and clean.તેથી તે કહે છે, ‘જેના ઘેરથી (વ્યક્તિ) હું નીકળ્યો છું તેના જ ઘરે (વ્યક્તિ) હું પાછો જઈશ. તેથી તે પાછો આવે છે અને જુએ છે તો પેલા માણસનું ઘર ખાલી સ્વચ્છ અને સુઘડ બનાવેલું છે.

45 Then he goes and takes with him seven other spirits worse than himself, and they go in and make it their living-place: and the last condition of that man is worse than the first. Even so will it be with this evil generation.પછી તે અશુદ્ધ આત્મા જાય છે અને પોતાના કરતાં વધુ ભૂંડા એવા સાત અશુદ્ધ આત્માઓને લાવે છે. અને એ બધાજ પેલા માણસમાં પ્રવેશીને રહે છે. આ અગાઉ કરતાં તેની દશા વધારે કફોડી બને છે. આ દુષ્ટ પેઢીના લોકો જે આજે છે તેમની હાલત પણ એવી જ થશે.”

46 While he was still talking to the people, his mother and his brothers came, desiring to have talk with him.ઈસુ જ્યારે લોકોને વાત કરી રહયો હતો ત્યારે તેની સાથે વાત કરવાની ઈચ્છાથી તેની મા અને ભાઈઓ ઘરની બહાર ઊભા રહ્યા હતા.

47 And one said to him, See, your mother and your brothers are outside, desiring to have talk with you.એક માણસે ઈસુને આવીને કહ્યું, “તારી મા અને ભાઈઓ તારી સાથે વાત કરવાની ઈચ્છાથી તારી રાહ જોઈને બહાર ઊભા રહ્યાં છે.”

48 But he in answer said to him who gave the news, Who is my mother and who are my brothers?ઈસુએ ઉત્તર આપ્યો, “કોણ મારી મા અને કોણ મારા ભાઈઓ?”

49 And he put out his hand to his disciples and said, See, my mother and my brothers!પછી ઈસુએ પોતાના શિષ્યો તરફ આંગળી ચીંધી ને કહ્યું, “જુઓ! આ લોકો જ મારી મા અને મારા ભાઈઓ છે.

50 For whoever does the pleasure of my Father in heaven, he is my brother, and sister, and mother.મારા આકાશમાંના બાપની ઈચ્છા પ્રમાણે જે વર્તે છે તે જ મારા ભાઈ, બહેન, અને મા છે.”
