ગાલિયો અખાયા દેશનો અધિકારી બન્યો. તે સમયે, યહૂદિઓ પાઉલની વિરૂદ્ધમાં ભેગા થઈને આવ્યા. તેઓ પાઉલને ન્યાયાસન આગળ લઈ ગયા.

આમ કરીને આ યહૂદિઓએ લોકોને, વડીલો તથા શાસ્ત્રીઓને મૂંઝવણમાં મૂંક્યા. તેઓ એટલા બધા ઉશ્કેરાયા કે તેઓએ આવીને સ્તેફનને પકડી લીધો. તેઓ તેને યહૂદિઓના બોધકોની સભામાં લઈ ગયા.
