Jeremiah 5:22
આ હું યહોવા બોલું છું “શું તમે મને જોઇને થથરી નહિ જાઓ? મેં સાગરને રેતીની પાળ બાંધી છે; એ પાળ કાયમી છે; સાગર એને ઓળંગી શકે નહિ, સાગર ગમે તેટલો તોફાને ચડે પણ કઇં કરી શકે નહિ. એનાં મોજાં ગમે તેટલી ગર્જના કરે પણ એને ઓળંગી નહિ શકે.

| by a perpetual | גְּב֣וּל | gĕbûl | ɡeh-VOOL |
| decree, | לַיָּ֔ם | layyām | la-YAHM |
| that it cannot | חָק | ḥāq | hahk |
| pass | עוֹלָ֖ם | ʿôlām | oh-LAHM |
| waves the though and it: | וְלֹ֣א | wĕlōʾ | veh-LOH |
| thereof toss themselves, | יַעַבְרֶ֑נְהוּ | yaʿabrenhû | ya-av-REN-hoo |
| not they can yet | וַיִּֽתְגָּעֲשׁוּ֙ | wayyitĕggāʿăšû | va-yee-teh-ɡa-uh-SHOO |
| prevail; | וְלֹ֣א | wĕlōʾ | veh-LOH |
| though they roar, | יוּכָ֔לוּ | yûkālû | yoo-HA-loo |
| not they can yet | וְהָמ֥וּ | wĕhāmû | veh-ha-MOO |
| pass over | גַלָּ֖יו | gallāyw | ɡa-LAV |
