Jeremiah 48:1
ઇસ્રાએલના દેવ યહોવા મોઆબ વિષે આ પ્રમાણે કહે છે કે, “નબોનું આવી બન્યું! તે ભોંય ભેંગુ થઇ ગયું છે, કિર્યાથાઇમને લાંછન લાગ્યું છે, તે જીતાઇ ગયું છે. તેનો કિલ્લો તોડી પાડવામાં આવ્યો છે! હવે મોઆબનું ગૌરવ નથી રહ્યું!

યહોવા, તેનો હાથ આ પર્વત પર ટેકવશે પરંતુ જેમ તણખલાને પગ નીચે કચડીને કચરાના ઢગલા પર ફેંકી દેવામાં આવે છે, તેમ ફેંકી દેશે. અને મોઆબને પગ નીચે કચડી નાખવામાં આવશે.
2 Chronicles 20:10
“અને હવે જો, આ આમ્મોનીઓ, મોઆબીઓ અને અદોમીઓ આવ્યા છે. અમે ઇસ્રાએલીઓ મિસરમાંથી આવતા હતા ત્યારે તમે અમને એ લોકોના દેશમાં દાખલ થવા દીધા નહોતા એટલે અમે એક તરફ વળી ગયા, અને એ લોકોનો નાશ ન કર્યો.

હું જે જોઉ છું તે દૃશ્ય આજનું નથી, પણ ભવિષ્યનું છે. યાકૂબના વંશમાંથી એક તારો ઊગશે, ઇસ્રાએલના લોકોમાંથી એક નવો શાસક આવશે, તે પોતાના રાજદંડથી મોઆબીઓનાં પ્રાણ હરશે. અને શેથના પુત્રોનો તે નાશ કરશે.
