James 2 - ASV (Gujarati)

1 My brethren, hold not the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, `the Lord' of glory, with respect of persons.મારા વહાલા ભાઈઓ અને બહેનો, તમે આપણા મહિમાવાન પ્રભુ ઈસુ ખ્રિસ્તમાં વિશ્વાસ ધરાવો છો. તો એવું ના માનશો કે કેટલાએક લોકો બીજા લોકો કરતાં અગત્યના છે.

2 For if there come into your synagogue a man with a gold ring, in fine clothing, and there come in also a poor man in vile clothing;ધારોકે કોઈ વ્યક્તિ તમારી સભામાં સુંદર કપડાં અને સોનાની વિંટી પહેરીને આવે, જ્યારે બીજો ગરીબ માણસ ફાટેલા જૂનાં વસ્ત્રો પહેરીને આવે.

3 and ye have regard to him that weareth the fine clothing, and say, Sit thou here in a good place; and ye say to the poor man, Stand thou there, or sit under my footstool;તો તમે સારાં કપડાં પહેરેલા માણસ તરફ ખાસ ધ્યાન આપો છો. અને તમે તેને કહો છો કે, “આ સારા આસને બેસ;” જ્યારે ગરીબ માણસને તમે કહેશો કે, “તું ત્યાં ઊભો રહે,” અથવા, “મારા પગના આસન પાસે બેસ!”

4 Do ye not make distinctions among yourselves, and become judges with evil thoughts?આ તમે શું કરો છો? આ રીતે ખરાબ વિચારોથી તમારામાં બીજાઓ કરતાં કયા માણસો અગત્યના છે તે તમે નક્કી કરો છો.

5 Hearken, my beloved brethren; did not God choose them that are poor as to the world `to be' rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he promised to them that love him?મારા વહાલા ભાઈઓ અને બહેનો! ધ્યાનથી સાંભળો, આ દુનિયાના ગરીબ લોકો વિશ્વાસમાં ધનવાન બને અને દેવે પોતાના પ્રેમ રાખનારાઓને જે રાજ્ય આપવાનું વચન આપ્યું છે તે પ્રાપ્ત કરે માટે દેવે તેઓને પસંદ કર્યા છે.

6 But ye have dishonored the poor man. Do not the rich oppress you, and themselves drag you before the judgment-seats?પણ તમે ગરીબ લોકોને બિલકુલ માન આપતા નથી. અને તમે જાણો છો કે શ્રીમંત લોકો જ તમારું શોષણ કરે છે. અને તમને ન્યાયાસન આગળ ઘસડી જાય છે.

7 Do not they blaspheme the honorable name by which ye are called?એ તે લોકો છે, જેઓ ઉત્તમ નામથી ઓળખાય છે, તેઓની નિંદા કરે છે.

8 Howbeit if ye fulfil the royal law, according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself, ye do well:જો તમે પવિત્રલેખમાં આપેલા જે રાજમાન્ય નિયમ છે તેને અનુસરશો, એટલે કે, “તું પોતાના જેવો પોતાના પડોશી પર પ્રેમ રાખ.”એનું જો તને પુરેપુરું પાલન કરો છો તો તમે ઘણું સારું કરો છો.

9 but if ye have respect of persons, ye commit sin, being convicted by the law as transgressors.પણ જો તમે એક વ્યક્તિને બીજા કરતાં વધુ મહત્વ આપશો, તો તમે પાપ કરો છો, એ રીતે તમે દેવના નિયમનો ભંગ કરો છો તેમ સાબિત થાય છે.

10 For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet stumble in one `point', he is become guilty of all.કોઈ વ્યક્તિ આખા નિયમશાસ્ત્રનું પાલન કરે, પણ જો એક આજ્ઞાનો ભંગ કરે, તો તે નિયમની બધી જ આજ્ઞાઓનો ભંગ કરનાર જેટલો જ ગુનેગાર ઠરે છે.

11 For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if thou dost not commit adultery, but killest, thou art become a transgressor of the law.દેવે કહ્યું છે કે, “તું વ્યભિચાર નું પાપ ન કર.”તે જ દેવે એમ પણ કહ્યું છે કે, “હત્યા ન કર.”માટે જો તમે વ્યભિચારનું પાપ ન કરો અને કોઈકની હત્યા કરો તો તમે દેવના બધાજ નિયમોનો ભંગ કરો છો”.

12 So speak ye, and so do, as men that are to be judged by a law of liberty.તમે જે કઈ કરો કે કહો ત્યારે યાદ રાખો કે સ્વતંત્રતા આપનાર તેના આધારે જ નિયમ દ્ધારા તમારો ન્યાય કરશે.

13 For judgment `is' without mercy to him that hath showed no mercy: mercy glorieth against judgment.હા, તમારે બીજા લોકો પર દયા બતાવવી જ જોઈએે. જો કોઈ વ્યક્તિ બીજા લોકો તરફ દયા નહિ રાખે તો, દેવ તેને દયા રાખ્યા વગર ન્યાય આપશે કારણ ન્યાય પર દયાનો વિજય હોય છે.

14 What doth it profit, my brethren, if a man say he hath faith, but have not works? can that faith save him?મારા વહાલા ભાઈઓ અને બહેનો, કોઈ કહે કે તેને વિશ્વાસ છે, પણ તે પ્રમાણે વર્તનમાં ન મૂકે, તો શો ફાયદો? શું એવો વિશ્વાસ તેનો ઉદ્ધાર કરી શકે? ના!

15 If a brother or sister be naked and in lack of daily food,ખ્રિસ્તમાં કેટલાએક ભાઈઓ અને બહેનોને દિવસ દરમ્યાન કપડા પહેરવા ન મળે અને રોજનો પૂરતો ખોરાક ન હોય.

16 and one of you say unto them, Go in peace, be ye warmed and filled; and yet ye give them not the things needful to the body; what doth it profit?અને તમારામાંનો કોઈ તેઓને કહે કે, “દેવ તમારી સાથે રહો, શાંતિથી જાઓ, તાપો અને તૃપ્ત થાઓ;” છતાં શરીરને જે જોઈએે તે ખોરાક કે કપડાં ન આપો તો તમારા શબ્દો નકામાં છે.

17 Even so faith, if it have not works, is dead in itself.એવું જ વિશ્વાસ માટે છે, વિશ્વાસમાં જો કરણી ન હોય, તો તે તેની જાતે મૃતપ્રાય છે, વિશ્વાસ એકલો પૂરતો નથી, કારણ કે કરણીઓ વિનાનો વિશ્વાસ એ વિશ્વાસ નથી.

18 Yea, a man will say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: show me thy faith apart from `thy' works, and I by my works will show thee `my' faith.કોઈ વ્યક્તિ કહેશે કે, “તને વિશ્વાસ છે, પણ મારી પાસે કરણીઓ છે.” હું તેને જવાબ આપીશ કે,”તારી પાસે જે વિશ્વાસ છે તે મારી કરણીઓ વિના મને બતાવ અને હું મારો વિશ્વાસ મારી કરણીઓથી તને બતાવીશ.”

19 Thou believest that God is one; thou doest well: the demons also believe, and shudder.દેવ એકજ છે એવું તમારું માનવું તે સારું છે! ભૂતો પણ એવો જ વિશ્વાસ કરે છે! અને તેઓ બીકથી ધ્રુંજે છે.

20 But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith apart from works is barren?ઓ મૂર્ખ માણસ! શું તારે જાણવું છે? વિશ્વાસ વગરનું કામ વ્યર્થ છે તેની આજ્ઞા પ્રમાણે કામ ન કરવું તે પણ નકામું છે.

21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works, in that he offered up Isaac his son upon the altar?આપણા પૂર્વજ ઈબ્રાહિમે જ્યારે પોતાના પુત્ર ઈસહાકને યજ્ઞવેદી પર બલિદાન માટે આપ્યો. તેના એ કાર્યને લીધે તેને ન્યાયી ઠરાવવામાં આવ્યો.

22 Thou seest that faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect;તું જુએ છે કે, ઈબ્રાહિમ વિશ્વાસને લીઘે બધુજ કરવા તૈયાર હતો. તેનાં સારા કાર્યોથી તેનો વિશ્વાસ સંપૂર્ણ કરાયો.

23 and the scripture was fulfilled which saith, And Abraham believed God, and it was reckoned unto him for righteousness; and he was called the friend of God.આ શાસ્ત્રનો અર્થ સમજાવે છે કે: “ઈબ્રાહિમે દેવ પર વિશ્વાસ કર્યો. અને દેવે ઈબ્રાહિમના વિશ્વાસને સ્વીકાર્યો, તે વિશ્વાસે ઈબ્રાહિમને દેવની નજરમાં ન્યાયી ઠરાવ્યો.”ઈબ્રાબિમને “દેવનો મિત્ર”કહેવામા આવ્યો.

24 Ye see that by works a man is justified, and not only by faith.તેથી તમે જુઓ માણસ તેના વિશ્વાસ એકલાથી નહિ પરંતુ સારી કરણીઓથી માણસને ન્યાયી ઠરાવવામાં આવે છે.

25 And in like manner was not also Rahab the harlot justified by works, in that she received the messengers, and sent them out another way?તે જ પ્રમાણે રાહાબ વેશ્યાનું ઉદાહરણ છે. જાસૂસોનો સત્કાર કર્યો અને બીજે માર્ગેથી સુરક્ષિત બહાર મોકલી દીધા. આમ તેણે જે કાંઇ કર્યું છે તેથી તેને ન્યાયી ઠરાવવામાં આવી.

26 For as the body apart from the spirit is dead, even so faith apart from works is dead.કારણ કે જે રીતે શરીર આત્મા વિના નિર્જીવ છે, તે જ રીતે વિશ્વાસ પણ કરણીઓ વગર નિર્જીવ છે!
