Judges 2
1 એક દિવસ યહોવાએ પોતાના દેવદૂતને ગિલ્ગાલથી બોખીમ મોકલ્યો અને ઈસ્રાએલીઓને કહ્યું, “મેં તમને મિસરમાંથી બહાર કાઢયા છે અને તમાંરા પિતૃઓને મેં વચન આપ્યું હતું તે પ્રમાંણે આ ભૂમિ તમને આપી છે, મેં તમને આપેલું વચન ક્યારેય તોડીશ નહિ,
2 તેમ તમાંરે પણ આ દેશની પ્રજા સાથે કોઈ કરાર કરવો નહિ, તમાંરે તે લોકોની વેદીઓ તોડી પાડવી. પણ તમે માંરી આજ્ઞાનું પાલન કર્યું નથી, તમે લોકો આ શું કરી બેઠા છો?
3 “તમે માંરા કરારનો ભંગ કર્યો છે તેથી હું તમને કહું છું કે હવે હું આ લોકોને તમાંરી આગળથી હાંકી કાઢીશ નહિ, તેઓ તમાંરી કૂખોમાં કાંટાની જેમ ભોંકાશે અને તેઓના દેવો તમને સતત શત્રુઓની જેમ ફસાવશે.”
4 દેવદૂતે બધા ઈસ્રાએલીઓને આ શબ્દો સંભળાવ્યા એટલે તેઓ મોટે સાદે રડવા લાગ્યા:
5 અને તે પરથી તે સ્થળનું નામ ‘બોખીમ’પડયું. ત્યાં તેઓએ યહોવાને યજ્ઞો કર્યો.
1 And an angel of the Lord came up from Gilgal to Bochim, and said, I made you to go up out of Egypt, and have brought you unto the land which I sware unto your fathers; and I said, I will never break my covenant with you.
2 And ye shall make no league with the inhabitants of this land; ye shall throw down their altars: but ye have not obeyed my voice: why have ye done this?
3 Wherefore I also said, I will not drive them out from before you; but they shall be as thorns in your sides, and their gods shall be a snare unto you.
4 And it came to pass, when the angel of the Lord spake these words unto all the children of Israel, that the people lifted up their voice, and wept.
5 And they called the name of that place Bochim: and they sacrificed there unto the Lord.
