અને તે લોકો જમીનને એવી ઢાંકી દેશે કે કોઈ જમીન જોવા જ પામશે નહિ. અને કરાની વર્ષા પછી તારી પાસે જે કાંઈ વધ્યું છે, તે તેઓ ખાઈ જશે; તેઓ તારા ખેતરમાંનું એકેએક વૃક્ષ ખાઈ જશે.

નિર્ગમન 10:15
તીડોનાં ટોળે ટોળાં સમગ્ર ભૂમિ પર છવાઈ ગયા અને ધરતી કાળી કાળી થઈ ગઈ. કરામાંથી બચી ગયેલા મિસર દેશના તમાંમ છોડો અને વૃક્ષો ઉપરનાં બધાંજ ફળ તેઓ ખાઈ ગયાં. સમગ્ર મિસર દેશનાં લીલાં વૃક્ષો અને છોડો નામશેષ થઈ ગયા. કોઈ પણ છોડ પર એકે પાંદડું રહ્યું નહિ.

હે યહોવા, હું તમને બોલાવું છું, ‘કારણકે અગ્નિએ મરૂભૂમિના ઘાસચારાને ભસ્મ કર્યો છે અને પ્રજવલિત જવાળાઓએ ખેતરના બધા વૃક્ષો બાળી નાખ્યાં છે.

તીડો તમારો બઘો પાક ખાઈ જશે. જે કાતરનારા તીડોએ છોડયું તે ગણગણતા તીડો ખાશે; જે ગણગણતા તીડોએ છોડયું તે કૂદતા તીડો ખાશે; છેલ્લે આંકરાંતિયા તીડ બચેલું બઘું ખાઈ જશે.
