1 This is the book of the generations of Adam. In the day that God created man, he made him in God's likeness.આ પ્રકરણ આદમના પરિવારનો આ ઇતિહાસ છે. દેવે મનુષ્યને પોતાના સ્વરૂપમાં જ બનાવ્યો.

2 He created them male and female, and blessed them, and called their name Adam,{"Adam" and "Man" are spelled with the exact same consonants in Hebrew, so this can be correctly translated either way.} in the day when they were created.દેવે એક પુરુષ અને એક સ્ત્રીને બનાવ્યાં. જે દિવસે દેવે એમને બનાવ્યા ત્યારે તેઓને આશીર્વાદ આપ્યા અને એમનું નામ આદમ રાખ્યું.

3 Adam lived one hundred thirty years, and became the father of a son in his own likeness, after his image, and named him Seth.જયારે આદમ 130 વર્ષનો થયો, ત્યારે તે એક બીજા બાળકનો પિતા બન્યો. તે પુત્ર બરાબર આદમ જેવો જ દેખાતો હતો. આદમે તે પુત્રનું નામ શેથ પાડયું.

4 The days of Adam after he became the father of Seth were eight hundred years, and he became the father of sons and daughters.શેથના જન્મ પછી આદમ 800 વર્ષ સુધી જીવ્યો. તે સમય દરમ્યાન તેને બીજા પુત્ર અને પુત્રીઓ થયાં.

5 All the days that Adam lived were nine hundred thirty years, then he died.આમ, આદમ એકંદરે 930 વર્ષ જીવ્યો, અને પછી મૃત્યુ પામ્યો.

6 Seth lived one hundred five years, and became the father of Enosh.જયારે શેથ 105 વર્ષનો થયો, ત્યારે તેને ત્યાં અનોશનો જન્મ થયો.

9 Enosh lived ninety years, and became the father of Kenan.અનોશ જયારે 90 વર્ષનો થયો, ત્યારે તેને ત્યાં કેનાન જન્મ્યો.

10 Enosh lived after he became the father of Kenan, eight hundred fifteen years, and became the father of sons and daughters.કેનાનના જન્મ પછી અનોશ 815 વર્ષ જીવ્યો અને તેને બીજા પુત્રપુત્રી થયાં.

11 All the days of Enosh were nine hundred five years, then he died.આમ, અનોશનું એકંદરે આયુષ્ય 905 વર્ષનું હતું. પછી તેનું મરણ થયું.

12 Kenan lived seventy years, and became the father of Mahalalel.જયારે કેનાન 70 વર્ષનો થયો, ત્યારે તેને ત્યાં માંહલાલએલ જન્મ્યો.

13 Kenan lived after he became the father of Mahalalel eight hundred forty years, and became the father of sons and daughtersમાંહલાલએલના જન્મ પછી કેનાન 840 વર્ષ જીવ્યો, અને તેને બીજા પુત્રપુત્રી થયાં.

14 and all the days of Kenan were nine hundred ten years, then he died.આમ, કેનાનનું કુલ આયુષ્ય 910 વર્ષનું હતું ત્યારબાદ તેનું મરણ થયું.

15 Mahalalel lived sixty-five years, and became the father of Jared.જયારે માંહલાલએેલ 65 વર્ષનો થયો, ત્યારે તેને ત્યાં યારેદનો જન્મ થયો.

16 Mahalalel lived after he became the father of Jared eight hundred thirty years, and became the father of sons and daughters.યારેદના જન્મ પછી માંહલાલએલ 830 વર્ષ જીવ્યો, અને તેને બીજા પુત્રપુત્રી થયાં.

17 All the days of Mahalalel were eight hundred ninety-five years, then he died.આમ, માંહલાલએલનું કુલ આયુષ્ય 895 વર્ષનું હતું. ત્યારબાદ તેનું મરણ થયું.

18 Jared lived one hundred sixty-two years, and became the father of Enoch.જયારે યારેદ 162 વર્ષનો થયો, ત્યારે તેને ત્યાં એક હનોખ નામનો બાળક જન્મ્યો.

19 Jared lived after he became the father of Enoch eight hundred years, and became the father of sons and daughters.હનોખના જન્મ પછી યારેદ 800 વર્ષ જીવ્યો અને તેને બીજા પુત્રપુત્રી થયાં.

20 All the days of Jared were nine hundred sixty-two years, then he died.આમ,યારેદ કુલ 962 વર્ષ જીવ્યો અને પછી મરણ પામ્યો.

21 Enoch lived sixty-five years, and became the father of Methuselah.જયારે હનોખ 65 વર્ષનો થયો ત્યારે તેને ત્યાં મથૂશેલાહનો જન્મ થયો.

22 Enoch walked with God after he became the father of Methuselah three hundred years, and became the father of sons and daughters.મથૂશેલાહના જન્મ પછી 300 વર્ષ સુધી ‘હનોખ’ દેવની સાથે સાથે ચાલ્યો, અને તેને બીજા પુત્રપુત્રી થયાં.

23 all the days of Enoch were three hundred sixty-five years.આમ, હનોખ કુલ 365વર્ષ જીવ્યો.

24 Enoch walked with God, and he was not, for God took him.એક દિવસ હનોખ દેવની સાથે ચાલી રહ્યો હતો, ત્યારે તે એકદમ અદ્રશ્ય થઈ ગયો; કેમ કે, દેવે તેને લઇ લીધો.

25 Methuselah lived one hundred eighty-seven years, and became the father of Lamech.જયારે મથૂશેલાહ 187 વર્ષનો થયો, ત્યારે તેને ત્યાં લામેખનો જન્મ થયો.

26 Methuselah lived after he became the father of Lamech seven hundred eighty-two years, and became the father of sons and daughters.લામેખના જન્મ પછી મથૂશેલાહ 782 વર્ષ જીવ્યો, ને તેને બીજા પુત્રપુત્રી થયાં.

27 All the days of Methuselah were nine hundred sixty-nine years, then he died.આમ, મથૂશેલાહ કુલ 969 વર્ષ જીવ્યા પછી મરણ પામ્યો.

28 Lamech lived one hundred eighty-two years, and became the father of a son,જયારે લામેખ 182 વર્ષનો થયો, ત્યારે તે એક પુત્રનો પિતા બન્યો.

29 and he named him Noah, saying, "This same will comfort us in our work and in the toil of our hands, because of the ground which Yahweh has cursed."લામેખના પુત્રનું નામ નૂહ રાખ્યું. લામેખે કહ્યું, “અમે ખેડૂત લોકો ઘણી સખત મહેનત કરીએ છીએ કારણ કે દેવે ભૂમિને શ્રાપ આપ્યો છે. પરંતુ નૂહ અમને લોકોને મહેનતમાંથી દિલાસો આપશે.”

30 Lamech lived after he became the father of Noah five hundred ninety-five years, and became the father of sons and daughters.નૂહના જન્મ પછી લામેખ 595 વર્ષ જીવ્યો, ને તેને બીજા પુત્રપુત્રી થયાં.

31 All the days of Lamech were seven hundred seventy-seven years, then he died.આમ, લામેખનું કુલ આયુષ્ય 777 વર્ષનું હતું; ત્યાર પછી તેનું મરણ થયું.

32 Noah was five hundred years old, and Noah became the father of Shem, Ham, and Japheth.જ્યારે નૂહ 500 વર્ષનો થયો, ત્યારે તેને ત્યાં શેમ, હામ અને યાફેથનો જન્મ થયો.
