પછી યાકૂબે પેલાને પૂછયું, “કૃપા કરીને મને જરા તમાંરું નામ કહેશો?”પરંતુ પેલી વ્યકિતએ કહ્યું, “તું માંરું નામ શા માંટે પૂછે છે?” અને પછી તે સમયે પેલી વ્યકિતએ યાકૂબને આશીર્વાદ આપ્યા.

| Tell | הַגִּֽידָה | haggîdâ | ha-ɡEE-da |
| thee, pray I me, | נָּ֣א | nāʾ | na |
| thy name. | שְׁמֶ֔ךָ | šĕmekā | sheh-MEH-ha |
| said, he And | וַיֹּ֕אמֶר | wayyōʾmer | va-YOH-mer |
| Wherefore | לָ֥מָּה | lāmmâ | LA-ma |
| is it | זֶּ֖ה | ze | zeh |
| that thou dost ask | תִּשְׁאַ֣ל | tišʾal | teesh-AL |
| name? my after | לִשְׁמִ֑י | lišmî | leesh-MEE |
| And he blessed | וַיְבָ֥רֶךְ | waybārek | vai-VA-rek |
| him there. | אֹת֖וֹ | ʾōtô | oh-TOH |
| שָֽׁם׃ | šām | shahm |
