ત્યારબાદ આબ્શાલોમે તથા ઇસ્રાએલના સર્વ આગેવાનોએ કહ્યું, “હૂશાયની સલાહ અહીથોફેલની સલાહ કરતા વધારે સારી છે.” યહોવાએ અહીથોફેલની સારી સલાહને મીટાવી દેવાનું નક્કી કર્યુ હતું, જેથી દેવ આબ્શાલોમનું ખરાબ કરે.
