બેન-હદાદે કહ્યું, “માંરા પિતાએ તમાંરા પિતા પાસેથી લઈ લીધેલાં શહેરો હું પાછાં આપીશ, અને માંરા પિતાએ જેમ સમરૂનમાં બજાર ખોલ્યાં હતાં તેમ તમે દમસ્કમાં ખોલજો.”આહાબે કહ્યું, “હું તમને આ શરતો પર જવા દઇશ.” આથી આહાબે તેની સાથે શાંતિકરાર કર્યા અને તેને મુકત કર્યો.

તેના પરાજય પછી બેન-હદાદના લશ્કરના વડાઓએ તેને કહ્યું, “ઇસ્રાએલના દેવ તો પર્વતોના દેવ છે, તેથી તેઓ જીતી ગયા છે. સપાટ મેદાનોમાં યુદ્ધ થાય તો પછી આપણે જીતી શકીએ.

અમારી સામે આક્રમણ કરવાની યોજનાઓ તૈયાર કરો, તમારી વ્યૂહરચનાઓ વિકસાવો, સભાઓ બોલાવો; અને નાશ પામો! કારણ કે યહોવા અમારી સાથે છે.
