સાતમે વષેર્ મુખ્ય યાજક યહોયાદાએ રાજાના અને મહેલના રક્ષણદળને અને તેના નાયકોને બોલાવી મંગાવ્યા. અને તેમને મંદિરમાં પોતાની પાસે બોલાવ્યા. તેણે તેમની સાથે યહોવાના મંદિરમાં કરાર કર્યો. પછી તેણે તે લોકોને રાજકુમારને બતાડ્યો અને તેમની પાસે વચન લેવડાવ્યા.

તેથી અધિકારીઓએ યહોયાદાની આજ્ઞાનું પાલન કર્યું, તેમણે વિશ્રામવારે કામ ન કરતા પોતાના બધા માણસોને એકઠા કર્યા અને તેમને લઈને તેઓ યાજક યહોયાદા પાસે આવ્યા.

યાજક યહોયાદાએ સેનાનાયકોને હુકમ કર્યો, “એને મંદિરની બહાર લશ્કરની વચ્ચે લઇ જાઓ અને જે કોઇ એની સાથે આવે તેની હત્યા કરો.” પછી યાજકે ચેતવણી આપતાં કહ્યું, “યહોવાના મંદિરમાં એનો વધ કરવાનો નથી.”

હઝકિયેલ 9:7
પછી દેવે તેઓને કહ્યું, “મંદિરને ષ્ટ કરો. હત્યા થયેલાઓનાં મૃતદેહોથી મંદિરનો ચોક ભરી દો.” અને હમણાં જ જાઓ, એટલે તેમણે શહેરમાં જઇને લોકોની હત્યા કરી.
