1 Corinthians 7:34
તેણે તે બે વસ્તુઓ વિષે વિચારવું જોઈએ. પત્નીને ખુશ કરવી અને પ્રભુને પ્રસન્ન કરવા. જે સ્ત્રી અવિવાહિત છે અથવા તો એ કન્યા કે જેણે કદી લગ્ન કર્યુ જ નથી, તે પ્રભુના કાર્યમાં વ્યસ્ત છે. તે હેતુપૂર્વક તે શરીર તથા આત્મામાં પવિત્ર થવા માગે છે. પરંતુ પરણેલી સ્ત્રી દુન્યવી બાબતોમાં વ્યસ્ત છે. તે પોતાના પતિને ખુશ કરવાનો પ્રયત્ન કરી રહી છે.

હે ભાઈઓ તથા બહેનો, હું તમને વિનંતી કરું છું કે હવે તમે કઈક કરો. દેવે આપણા પ્રત્યે પુષ્કળ દયા દર્શાવી છે. તેથી દેવની દયાની ખાતર તમે તમારા શરીરોનું જીવતું, પવિત્ર તથા દેવને પસંદ પડે એવું અર્પણ કરો. તમારું અર્પણ માત્ર પ્રભુ અર્થે જ થાય, અને તેથી દેવ પ્રસન્ન થશે. તમારું અર્પણ દેવની સેવાનો આધ્યાત્મિક માર્ગ છે.

પાપકર્મમાં તમારા શરીરનાં અવયવોને સમર્પિત ન કરો. અનિષ્ટ કાર્યો કરવાના સાધન તરીકે તમે તમારાં શરીરોનો ઉપયોગ ન કરો. પરંતુ તમારે પોતે દેવને સમર્પિત થઈ જવું જોઈએ. જે લોકો મરણ પામીને પણ હવે ફરીથી સજીવન થયા છે એવા તમે થાવ. તમારાં શરીરનાં અવયવો દેવને સમર્પિત કરો જેથી શુભ કાર્યો માટે એનો ઉપયોગ થાય.

આ વાત સાચી છે.આ બધી બાબતો લોકો સમજે એની તું ખાતરી કર એમ હું ઈચ્છું છું. તો જ દેવમાં વિશ્વાસ કરનારા લોકો સારા કાર્યો કરવા માટે પોતાના જીવનને સમર્પિત કરશે. આ બધી વાતો સારી છે, અને સૌ લોકોને મદદરુંપ થશે.

દેવની સ્તુતિ થાઓ કે તેણે તિતસને એટલો પ્રેમ આપ્યો જેટલો મને તમારા માટે છે.

જેવી દેવની ઈચ્છા હતી તેવી વ્યથા તમારી હતી. હવે જુઓ કે તે વ્યથા તમને શું પ્રદાન કરે છે: તે વ્યથા તમારામાં ઘણી ગંભીરતા લાવી. તમે ખોટા ન હતા તેવું પૂરવાર કરવાની તેણે તમને પ્રેરણા આપી. તેણે તમને ક્રોધિત તેમજ ભયભીત બનાવ્યા. મને મળવા માટે તેણે તમને પ્રેરણા આપી. તેણે તમને વધારે સમર્પિત બનાવ્યા. તેણે તમને ન્યાયી બાબત કરવાની ઈચ્છાવાળા બનાવ્યા. તમે સાબિત કર્યુ કે તમે આ બાબતમાં સંપૂર્ણ નિર્દોષ હતા.
