પછી યહોશુઆએ તે રાજાઓને તરવારથી માંરી નાખ્યા. અને તેમનાં શબ પાંચ જાડ ઉપર લટકાવ્યાં, અને છેક સાંજ થતાં સુધી તે ત્યાં લકટતાં રહ્યાં.

2 Samuel 21:9
તેણે તેઓને લઇને ગિબયોનના લોકોને આપ્યા. ગિબયોનીઓએ આ માંણસોને ગિલ્યાદ પર્વત પર લઇ ગયા અને યહોવા સમક્ષ ફાંસીએ લટકાવ્યા, તે સાતેય જણ એક સાથે માંર્યા ગયા. તે સમયે જવની કાપણીની શરૂઆત થઇ રહી હતી.

એટલે તમે અમને તેના સાત પુત્રો સુપ્રત કરો અને અમે તેમને યહોવાએ પસંદ કરેલા રાજા શાઉલના ગામ ગિબયાહમાં લઇ જઇશું અને ફાંસી આપીશું.”રાજાએ કહ્યું. “હું તેઓને તમને સોંપી દઈશ.”

શમુએલે કહ્યું, “તારી તરવારે ઘણી માંતાઓને પુત્રહીન બનાવી છે, એટલે હવે તારી માંતા પુત્રહીન બનશે.” અને તેણે ગિલ્ગાલની વેદી સામે અગાગને કાપી નાખ્યો.

યહોવાએ મૂસાને આજ્ઞા કરી કે, “તું ઇસ્રાએલી લોકોના બધા આગેવાનોને લઈને તેમનો ધોળે દિવસે માંરી સમક્ષ વધ કર, જેથી ઇસ્રાએલ પરથી માંરો ક્રોધ શમી જાય.”
