Jeremiah 18:21
તો હવે તું એમના બાળકોને દુકાળને હવાલે કર. તેમને તરવારની ધારે મરવા દે. તેમની સ્ત્રીઓને પુત્રવિહોણી અને પતિવિહોણી થવા દે. પુરુષોને રોગથી અને જવાનો લડાઇમાં તરવારથી માર્યા જાય.

ત્યારે યહોવાએ બાબિલના રાજાને તેમના ઉપર ચઢાઇ કરવા મોકલ્યો. બાબિલના રાજાએ તેમના યુવાન માણસોને જ્યારે તેઓ મંદિરની અંદર જ હતાં ત્યારે મારી નાખ્યાં. તેણે સ્ત્રી કે પુરુષ, વૃદ્ધ કે યુવાન, સાજાં કે માંદા કોઇનેય છોડ્યાં નહિ. દેવે તેમને બધાંને તેના હાથમાં સુપ્રત કર્યા હતાં.
