Deuteronomy 31:23
પછી યહોવાએ નૂનના પુત્ર યહોશુઆને કહ્યું, “બળવાન થજે અને દૃઢ રહેજે, કારણ કે, ઇસ્રાએલીઓને મેં જે દેશ આપવા કહ્યું હતું ત્યાં તારે એમને લઈ જવાના છે, અને હું તારી સાથે રહીશ.”

પછી યહોવાએ મૂસાને કહ્યું, “તારા મૃત્યુનો સમય નજીક આવી રહ્યો છે. યહોશુઆને બોલાવ અને તમે બંને મુલાકાત મંડપમાં માંરી પાસે આવો, જેથી હું તને માંરો આદેશ આપી શકું.” તેથી મૂસા અને યહોશુઆ ગયા અને મુલાકાત મંડપમાં ઉભા રહ્યાં.
Deuteronomy 3:28
તું તારું સ્થાન લેવા માંટે યહોશુઆને આદેશ આપજે, તેને હિંમત આપજે, બળ આપજે, કારણ કે, પર્વતની ટોચ પરથી તું જે દેશ જોશે તેને જીતવા માંટે, લોકોને માંટે તે પેલે પાર આગળ લઈ જશે.’

પરંતુ તમાંરા દેવ યહોવા તમાંરી આગળ રહીને યર્દન નદી ઓળંગશે અને તમાંરી સામેની પ્રજાઓનો નાશ કરશે અને તમે તેમનો પ્રદેશ કબજે કરશો. અને યહોવાની આજ્ઞા પ્રમાંણે યહોશુઆ તમાંરી આગેવાની લેશે.
Joshua 1:5
તું જ્યાં સુધી જીવતો રહીશ ત્યાં સુધી કોઈ તને રોકી શકશે નહિ. હું જેમ મૂસાની સાથે રહેતો હતો. તે જ પ્રમાંણે તારી સાથે પણ હું રહીશ.

પાછળથી યહોશુઆ આપણા પિતાઓને બીજા રાષ્ટ્રોની ભૂમિ જીતવા દોરી ગયો. આપણા લોકો અંદર પ્રવેશ્યા. દેવે બીજા લોકોને બહાર કાઢ્યા. જ્યારે આપણા લોકો આ નવી ભૂમિમાં પ્રવેશ્યા, તેઓ તેઓની સાથે એ જ મંડપ લઈ આવ્યા. આપણા લોકોએ આ મંડપો તેઓના પૂર્વજો પાસેથી પ્રાપ્ય કર્યો હતો. અને આપણા લોકોએ દાઉદનો સમય આવતા સુધી તે રાખ્યા.
