તેણે રણમાં પણ બુરજો બંધાવ્યા અને અનેક કૂવાઓ ખોદાવ્યા, કારણ, તેની પાસે નીચાણના પ્રદેશમાં તેમજ ઉચ્ચ પ્રદેશમાં ઘણાં ઢોરો હતાં. તેને ખેતીવાડીનો શોખ હતો, એટલે એણે દ્રાક્ષવાડીઓ ઉગાડનાર અને ફળદ્રૂપ ભૂમિમાં અને પર્વતીય પ્રદેશોમાં કામ કરનાર ખેડૂતો રાખ્યા હતા.

તેણે મોઆબીઓને પણ હરાવ્યાં, તેઓ તેના તાબેદાર બન્યા અને તેને ખંડણી ભરવા લાગ્યા.
