અને યહૂદાનો રાજા યહોયાખીન, તેની મા, તેના અમલદારો, તેના આગેવાનો અને દરબારીઓ સૌ બાબિલના રાજા પાસે ગયાં અને બાબિલના રાજાએ તેમને પકડીને કેદ કર્યા. નબૂખાદનેસ્સાર રાજા હતો ત્યારે તેના શાસનના 8મેં વષેર્ આ બન્યું.

યકોન્યા રાજા, રાજમાતા, રાજ્યના અધિકારીઓ, કુળોના આગેવાનો અને કુશળ કારીગરોને બાબિલમાં બંદીવાન તરીકે નબૂખાદનેસ્સાર લઇ ગયો.

ત્યારબાદ વસંતઋતુમાં નબૂખાદનેસ્સાર રાજાએ તેને બાબિલ બોલાવ્યો. તે વખતે મંદિરમાંથી ઘણો ખજાનો બાબિલ લઇ જવામાં આવ્યો. નબૂખાદનેસ્સાર રાજાએ યહોયાખીનના ભાઇ સિદકિયાને યહૂદા અને યરૂશાલેમમાં નવા રાજા તરીકે નીમ્યો.

યહૂદાના રાજા યહોયાખીનને પણ બંદીવાસમાંથી મુકત કરવામાં આવ્યો. આમ આ દેશનિકાલના સાડત્રીસમા વર્ષમાં બન્યું. છેલ્લા માસના સત્તાવીસમે દિવસે બાબિલના રાજા એવીલ-મરોદાખે, પોતે ગાદીએ બેઠો અને તે જ વરસે યહૂદાના રાજા યહોયાખીનને માફી અપાઇ અને તેને કારાવાસમાંથી મુકત કરવામાં આવ્યો.

Ezekiel 17:12
“તું તે બંડખોરોની જમાતને પૂછ; તમને આનો અર્થ સમજાય છે? તું એમને સમજાવ કે બાબિલનો રાજા યરૂશાલેમ આવીને રાજાને અને આગેવાનોને પોતાના નગર બાબિલમાં ઉપાડી ગયો.

બાબિલમાં યહૂદિયાના રાજા યહોયાકીનના દેશવટાના સાડત્રીસમા વર્ષના બારમાં મહિનાના પચીસમે દિવસે બાબિલના રાજા એવીલ-મેરોદાખે પોતે ગાદીએ આવ્યો તે જ વરસે યહૂદિયાના રાજા યહોયાકીમને માફી આપી અને તેને કારાવાસમાંથી મુકત કર્યો.
