2 Kings 14:3
અમાસ્યાએ યહોવાની દ્રષ્ટિએ યોગ્ય ગણાય એવું આચરણ કર્યું. જો કે છેક પિતૃ દાઉદના જેવું તો નહિ જ, તે બધી બાબતમાં પોતાના પિતા યોઆશને પગલે ચાલ્યો.

અદોમીઓને હરાવીને અમાસ્યા પાછો આવ્યો અને જે અદોમીઓના પૂતળાં સાથે લઇ આવ્યો હતો, તેની તેણે પોતાના દેવો તરીકે સ્થાપના કરી, પછી તેણે તેની પૂજા કરવાનું અને તેમની સામે ધૂપ બાળવાનું શરૂ કર્યું.

તેણે યહોવાની ષ્ટિએ જે યોગ્ય હતું તે કર્યું. પણ હંમેશા તે પૂરા હૃદયથી તેમ કરતો ન હતો.

યહોયાદા યાજકના ઉપદેશાનુસાર તેણે જીવન પર્યત યહોવાની નજરમાં સાચાં ગણાય એવાં કાર્યો કર્યા હતાં.

તેના પિતાએ તેની પહેલાં જે પાપો કર્યા હતાં, તેણે તેજ બધાં કર્યા. તેના પિતા દાઉદ પોતાના દેવ યહોવાને સંપૂર્ણ વફાદાર રહ્યો હતો તેવો તે ન રહ્યો;

તમે જાણો છો કે ભૂતકાળમાં તમ નિરર્થક જીવન જીવતા હતા. તમારા પહેલા જીવી ગયેલા લોકો પાસેથી તમને આવું જીવન વારસામાં મળ્યું હતું. પરંતુ તે પ્રકારની જીવન પદ્ધતિમાંથી તમને બચાવી લેવામા આવ્યા છે, તમને ખરીદવામાં આવ્યા છે. પરંતુ સોના કે ચાંદી જેવી નાશવંત વસ્તુઓથી નહિ.
