રાજાનું ફરમાન બહાર પડતાં જ ઇસ્રાએલીઓએ અનાજનો, દ્રાક્ષારસનો, તેલનો, મધનો અને બધી જ ખેતીવાડીની પેદાશનો પહેલો ફાલ ઉદાર હાથે આપ્યો. વળી એટલી જ ઉદારતાથી તેઓ દરેક વસ્તુમાંથી દસમો ભાગ લઇ આવ્યા.
