આસાએ પોતાના દેવ યહોવાને અરજ કરી, “હે યહોવા, બળવાનની વિરૂદ્ધ નિર્બળને સહાય કરનાર, તારા સિવાય બીજો કોઇ નથી; હે યહોવા, અમારા દેવ, અમને સહાય કર; અમને માત્ર તારો જ આધાર છે. અને તારું નામ લઇને જ અમે આ મોટા સૈન્યની સામે આવ્યા છીએ, હે યહોવા, તું અમારો દેવ છે. લોકો તારી પર વિજયી ન થાય, એ જોજે.”

જો કે ઇસ્રાએલમાંથી ટેકરી ઉપરના સ્થાનકો દૂર કરવામાં આવ્યા નહોતા. તેમ છતાં આસા જીવનભર યહોવાને સંપૂર્ણ વફાદાર રહ્યો.
