દાઉદ રાજાએ તેઓ સમક્ષ ઊભા થઇને સંબોધન કરતાં કહ્યું, “મારા ભાઇઓ, અને મારાં પ્રજાજનો, મારી વાત સાંભળો, મારો વિચાર આપણા દેવ યહોવાના કરારકોશ માટે એક વિશ્રાંતિનું મંદિર બાંધવાનો હતો, જે આપણા દેવ માટે પાયાસન જેવું બનશે. અને મેં તેની તૈયારીઓ પણ કરી હતી;
