1 Chronicles 11:6
દાઉદે કહ્યું, “જે કોઇ યબૂસીઓને મારવામાં પહેલ કરશે તેને સરસેનાપતિ બનાવવામાં આવશે.” યોઆબ બીન સરૂયાએ સૌથી પહેલો હુમલો કર્યો અને તેથી તેને સરસેનાપતિ બનાવવામાં આવ્યો.

યોઆબ લશ્કરનો સેનાપતિ હતો. યહોયાદાનો પુત્ર બનાયા રાજાના અંગરક્ષકોનો નાયક હતો.
