Ecclesiastes 2:15
ત્યારે મેં મારા મનમાં વિચાર્યું કે, જેમ મૂર્ખને થાય છે તેમ મને પણ થશે જ, ત્યારે મને તેનાં કરતાં વધારે બુદ્ધિમાન હોવામા શો લાભ? ત્યારે મેં મારા મનમાં કહ્યું કે, એ પણ નિરર્થક છે.

| so it happeneth | גַּם | gam | ɡahm |
| even | אֲנִ֣י | ʾănî | uh-NEE |
| why and me; to | יִקְרֵ֔נִי | yiqrēnî | yeek-RAY-nee |
| was I | וְלָ֧מָּה | wĕlāmmâ | veh-LA-ma |
| then | חָכַ֛מְתִּי | ḥākamtî | ha-HAHM-tee |
| more | אֲנִ֖י | ʾănî | uh-NEE |
| wise? | אָ֣ז | ʾāz | az |
| said I Then | יוֹתֵ֑ר | yôtēr | yoh-TARE |
| in my heart, | וְדִבַּ֣רְתִּי | wĕdibbartî | veh-dee-BAHR-tee |
| that this | בְלִבִּ֔י | bĕlibbî | veh-lee-BEE |
| also | שֶׁגַּם | šeggam | sheh-ɡAHM |
| is vanity. | זֶ֖ה | ze | zeh |
| הָֽבֶל׃ | hābel | HA-vel |
