Deuteronomy 4:13
તેમણે તમને પોતાના કરારના દશ નિયમોનું પાલન કરવાનું કહ્યું. અને તે તેમણે પથ્થરની બે તકતીઓ પર લખ્યા.

સેવા જે મૃત્યુ લાવે છે તેના શબ્દો પથ્થર પર લખાયેલા હતા. તે દેવના મહિમા સાથે આવ્યા હતા. મૂસાના મુખ પરંતુ તેજ મહિમાથી એટલું પ્રકાશવાન હતું કે ઈસ્રાએલ ના લોકો સતત તેની સામે જોઈ શક્યા નહોતા. અને તે મહિમા પછીથી અદશ્ય થઈ ગયો હતો.

“એ પછી યહોવાએ મને કહ્યું, ‘પહેલાં હતી તેવી જ બે પથ્થરની તકતીઓ તૈયાર કર અને તેને મૂકવા માંટે લાકડાની એક પેટી બનાવ. પછી માંરી પાસે તકતીઓ લઈને પર્વત પર આવ.

હું ત્યાં પર્વત પર હતો, યહોવાએ તમાંરી સાથે કરેલા કરારની તકતીઓ લેવા હું ત્યાં ગયો હતો. હું ત્યાં ખાધાપીધા વિના ચાળીસ દિવસ અને રાત રહ્યો હતો.

બધા ઇસ્રાએલી લોકોને બોલાવીને મૂસાએ તેઓને કહ્યું, “હે ઇસ્રાએલીઓ, આજે હું તમને જે કાયદાઓ અને નિયમો સંભળાવું છું તે ધ્યાનથી સાંભળો અને એ શીખી લો અને ચોક્કસ એનું પાલન કરો.

અને યહોવાનું ગૌરવ ઇસ્રાએલીઓને પર્વતની ટોચે સર્વભક્ષી અગ્નિ જેવું લાગ્યું.

તેથી હવે જો તમે માંરા કહ્યાં પ્રમાંણે કરશો અને માંરા કરારને ધ્યાન રાખશો, તો સર્વ પ્રજાઓમાં તમે માંત્ર ખાસ પ્રજા થશો. સમગ્ર પૃથ્વી માંરી છે. પણ હું તમને માંરા ખાસ લોકો તરીકે પસંદ કરુ છું.
