Acts 12:1-5 in Gujarati

1 Now about that time Herod the king stretched forth his hands to vex certain of the church.

2 And he killed James the brother of John with the sword.

3 And because he saw it pleased the Jews, he proceeded further to take Peter also. (Then were the days of unleavened bread.)

4 And when he had apprehended him, he put him in prison, and delivered him to four quaternions of soldiers to keep him; intending after Easter to bring him forth to the people.

5 Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him.

1 એ સમય દરમ્યાન રાજા હેરોદેમંડળીના કેટલાક લોકોની સતાવણી શરું કરી.

2 હેરોદે યાકૂબને તલવારથી મારી નાખવાનો હુકમ કર્યો. યાકૂબ યોહાનનો ભાઈ હતો.
And he killed James the brother of John with the sword.

3 હેરોદે જોયું કે યહૂદિઓને આ ગમે છે તેથી તેણે પિતરને પણ પકડવાનો નિર્ણય કર્યો. (પાસ્ખા પર્વના યહૂદિઓના બેખમીર રોટલીના પવિત્ર સમય દરમ્યાન આ બન્યું.)

4 હેરોદે પિતરને પકડીને બંદીખાનામાં મૂક્યો. 16 સૈનિકોનો સમૂહ પિતરનું રક્ષણ કરતો. પાસ્ખાપર્વના ઉત્સવ પછી રાહ જોવાની હેરોદની ઈચ્છા હતી. પછી તેણે પિતરને લોકોની આગળ લાવવાની યોજના કરી.

5 તેથી પિતરને જેલમાં રાખવામાં આવ્યો. પરંતુ મંડળીમાં પિતર માટે આગ્રહથી દેવની પ્રાર્થના થતી હતી.
