Isaiah 28:20
“તમે તૈયાર કરેલી પથારી એટલી ટૂંકી છે કે તેના પર સૂઇ શકાય નહિ; અને ઓઢવાનું એટલું સાંકડું છે કે તમને ઢાંકી શકે નહિ.”

પરંતુ જે લોકો પોતાની જાતે પોતાના માર્ગની પસંદગી કરીને પોતાનાં પાપોમાં આનંદ માને છે અને જૂઠા દેવોને ધૂપ અર્પણ કરે છે, તેમને હું શ્રાપ આપીશ. દેવ તેમના અર્પણોને માન્ય રાખશે નહિ, આવા માણસો દેવની વેદી પર બળદનું બલિદાન આપે તે મનુષ્યના બલિદાન સમાન ગણાશે અને તેનો સ્વીકાર થશે નહિ. પણ જો તેઓ ઘેટાંનું ખાદ્યાર્પણ લાવે તો તે દેવની ષ્ટિમાં કૂતરાં અથવા ડુક્કરના રકતનું અર્પણ કરવા જેવું ધિક્કારપાત્ર ગણાશે!
Jeremiah 7:8
“‘જરા જો કે તું શું કરી રહ્યો છે? શું તું હજી એ છેતરામણા શબ્દોમાં માને છે જે તને કોઇ રીતે મદદ ન કરી શકે?
Romans 9:30
તો આ બધાનો અર્થ શું થાય? એનો અર્થ આ છે કે: બિનયહૂદિ લોકો દેવ સાથે ન્યાયી થવાનો પ્રયત્ન કરતા ન હતા છતાં તેઓને દેવ સાથે ન્યાયી બનાવાયા અને તેઓ પોતાના વિશ્વાસને લીધે ન્યાયી ઠર્યા.
1 Corinthians 1:18
જે લોકો ભટકી ગયેલા છે, તેઓને માટે વધસ્તંભ અંગેનો ઉપદેશ મૂર્ખતા ભરેલો છે. પરંતુ આપણે માટે કે જેનું તારણ થયેલું છે, તેમના માટે તો તે દેવનું સાર્મથ્ય છે.
