જ્યારે આસાએ દિવ્યવાણીના વચનો ઓદેદની ભવિષ્યવાણીમાં સાંભળ્યા, ત્યારે તેણે હિંમત રાખીને યહૂદા તથા બિન્યામીનના દેશમાંથી તથા જે શહેરો તેણે એફ્રાઇમના પર્વતીય પ્રદેશમાં જીતી લીધાં હતા, તે બધામાંથી ઘૃણાસ્પદ મૂર્તિઓને હઠાવી દીધી. અને યહોવાના મંદિરની સામેની વેદી તેણે ફરી બંધાવી.
