6 પનિન્ના હમેશા હાન્નાને ચિંતિત કરતી અને તેને ખરાબ લાગે તેમ કરતી હતી. પનિન્નાએ આમ કર્યું કારણકે હાન્ના સંતાન મેળવી શકતી ન હતી.
7 પ્રતિવર્ષ આમ બનતું; જયારે તેઓ યહોવાના મંદિરે શીલોહ જતા ત્યારે પનિન્ના તેને મહેણાં માંરતી અને તેની મશ્કરી કરતી, તેથી હાન્ના રડી પડતી અને ખાતી પણ નહિ.
8 તેનો પતિ હઁમેશા તેણીને પૂછતો, “હાન્ના, તું શા માંટે રડે છે? અને તું ખાતી કેમ નથી? તું શા માંટે આટલી ઉદાસ છે? હું દસ પુત્રો કરતાં સારો છું તેમ તારે વિચારવું.”
6 And her adversary also provoked her sore, for to make her fret, because the Lord had shut up her womb.
7 And as he did so year by year, when she went up to the house of the Lord, so she provoked her; therefore she wept, and did not eat.
8 Then said Elkanah her husband to her, Hannah, why weepest thou? and why eatest thou not? and why is thy heart grieved? am not I better to thee than ten sons?
