1 Chronicles 21 - BBE (Gujarati)

1 Now Satan, designing evil against Israel, put into David's mind the impulse to take the number of Israel.પછી શેતાન ઇસ્રાએલીઓ સામે લડવા તૈયાર થયો. તેણે દાઉદને વસ્તી ગણતરી કરવા ભડકાવ્યો.

2 And David said to Joab and the captains of the people, Now let all Israel, from Beer-sheba to Dan, be numbered; and give me word so that I may be certain of their number.આથી દાઉદે યોઆબને અને લશ્કરી વડા અધિકારીઓને કહ્યું, “જાઓ અને બેર-શેબાથી દાન સુધી સમગ્ર ઇસ્રાએલની વસ્તી ગણતરી કરો. અને પછી આવીને જણાવો કે, મારી પ્રજાની વસ્તી કેટલી છે.”

3 And Joab said, May the Lord make his people a hundred times more in number than they are; but, my lord king, are they not all my lord's servants? why would my lord have this done? why will he become a cause of sin to Israel?પરંતુ યોઆબે વાંધો લેતા જણાવ્યું, “યહોવા પ્રજાની વસ્તીને બમણી કરે તોયે, એ બધા આપ નામદારના સેવકો જ નથી? આપ શા માટે ઇસ્રાએલને દોષી ઠરાવવા ચાહો છો? અને તમે ઇસ્રાએલને અપરાધી શા માટે ઠેરવો છો?”

4 But the king's word was stronger than Joab's. So Joab went out and went through all Israel and came to Jerusalem.પરંતુ રાજાની આજ્ઞા આગળ યોઆબનું કાંઇ ચાલ્યુ નહિ. સમગ્ર ઇસ્રાએલ દેશમાં ફરીને તે યરૂશાલેમ પાછો ફર્યો.

5 And Joab gave David the number of all the people; all the men of Israel, able to take up arms, were one million, one hundred thousand men; and those of Judah were four hundred and seventy thousand men, able to take up arms.યોઓબે વસતી ગણતરીના આંકડા દાઉદને આપ્યા; લશ્કરમાં જોડાઇ શકે, ને શસ્ત્ર ચલાવી શકે તેવા પુખ્ત માણસો ઇસ્રાએલમાં 11,00,000 અને યહૂદિયામાં તે 4,70,000 હતા.

6 But Levi and Benjamin were not numbered among them, for Joab was disgusted with the king's order.યોઆબને રાજાની આજ્ઞા એટલી અણગમતી લાગી હતી કે તેણે લેવીની અને બિન્યામીનની ગણતરી જ કરી ન હતી.

7 And God was not pleased with this thing; so he sent punishment on Israel.આ બધી કાર્યવાહીથી દેવ નારાજ થયા અને તેથી તેણે ઇસ્રાયેલને શિક્ષા કરી.

8 Then David said to God, Great has been my sin in doing this; but now, be pleased to take away the sin of your servant, for I have done very foolishly.એટલે દાઉદે દેવને કહ્યું, “આમ કરવામાં મેં ઘોર પાપ કર્યું છે, પણ હવે આ સેવકનો દોષ કૃપા કરીને માફ કરો. આ કામ માટે મેં ઘોર અપરાધ કર્યો છે.”

9 Then the word of the Lord came to Gad, David's seer, saying,તેથી યહોવાએ દાઉદના પ્રબોધક ગાદને કહ્યું,

10 Go and say to David, The Lord says, Three things are offered to you: say which of them you will have, so that I may do it to you.“જા, અને દાઉદને કહે, ‘યહોવા આ મુજબ જણાવે છે: હું તારી સમક્ષ ત્રણ વસ્તુ રજૂ કરું છું. તું ગમે તે એક પસંદ કર, અને જે તું પસંદ કરે તે પ્રમાણે હું કરીશ.”‘

11 So Gad came to David and said to him, The Lord says, Take whichever you will:ગાદ દાઉદ પાસે ગયો અને યહોવાએ જે કહ્યું, “તે જણાવ્યું. અને પૂછયું, ‘તું શું પસંદ કરે છે?

12 Three years when there will not be enough food; or three months of war, when you will go in flight before your haters, being in great danger of the sword; or three days of the sword of the Lord, disease in the land, and the angel of the Lord taking destruction through all the land of Israel. Now give thought to the answer I am to take back to him who sent me.ત્રણ વરસનો દુકાળ પડે. અથવા ત્રણ મહિના સુધી દુશ્મનો તરવાર લઇને તારો પીછો પકડી તને હેરાન કરે, અથવા ત્રણ દિવસ સુધી યહોવાની તરવાર કામે લાગે, સમગ્ર દેશમાં રોગચાળો ફાટી નીકળે અને યહોવાનો દૂત આખા ઇસ્રાએલમાં વિનાશ કરતો ફરે.’ હવે તું વિચાર કરીને કહે, કે મને મોકલનાર માટે શો જવાબ આપવો.”

13 And David said to Gad, This is a hard decision for me to make: let me come into the hands of the Lord, for great are his mercies: let me not come into the hands of men.એટલે દાઉદે ગાદને કહ્યું, “હું ભારે મુશ્કેલીમાં આવી પડ્યો છું, પણ હું માણસોના હાથમાં પડવા કરતાં હું યહોવાના હાથમાં પડું એ વધારે સારું છે, કારણ, તે અનંત કૃપાળુ છે.”

14 So the Lord sent disease on Israel, causing the death of seventy thousand men.આથી યહોવાએ ઇસ્રાએલમાં રોગચાળો મોકલ્યો અને 70,000 ઇસ્રાએલીઓ મૃત્યુ પામ્યા.

15 And God sent an angel to Jerusalem for its destruction: and when he was about to do so, the Lord saw, and had regret for the evil, and said to the angel of destruction, It is enough; do no more. Now the angel of the Lord was by the grain-floor of Ornan the Jebusite.પછી દેવે યરૂશાલેમનો નાશ કરવા એક દેવદૂતને મોકલ્યો, પણ તે નાશ કરવાની અણી પર હતો ત્યારે યહોવાને દયા આવી અને તેણે કહ્યું, “બસ કર, બહુ થયું, હવે તારો હાથ પાછો ખેંચી લે.” એ વખતે યહોવાનો દૂત યબૂસીની ઓર્નાનની ખળી પાસે ઉભો હતો.

16 And David, lifting up his eyes, saw the angel of the Lord there between earth and heaven, with an uncovered sword in his hand stretched out over Jerusalem. Then David and the responsible men, clothed in haircloth, went down on their faces.દાઉદે પર નજર કરીને જોયું તો યહોવાનો દૂત આકાશ અને પૃથ્વી વચ્ચે ઉઘાડી ખેંચેલી તરવાર લઇને યરૂશાલેમ તરફ પોતાના હાથ લંબાવી ઊભો હતો. કંતાન પહેરેલા દાઉદ અને વડીલોએ ભૂમિ પર લાંબા થઇને પ્રણામ કર્યા.

17 And David said to God, Was it not I who gave the order for the people to be numbered? It is I who have done the sin and the great wrong; but these are only sheep; what have they done? let your hand, O Lord God, be lifted up against me and against my family, but not against your people to send disease on them.અને દાઉદે દેવને પ્રાર્થના કરી, “વસતી ગણતરીનો હુકમ આપીને મેં પાપ કર્યુ છે. આ ઘેટાઁઓએ શું કર્યું છે? હે યહોવા મારા દેવ, મારો અને મારા કુટુંબનો નાશ કરો, પણ તમારા લોકોનો નાશ ન કરો.”

18 Then the angel of the Lord gave orders to Gad to say to David that he was to go and put up an altar to the Lord on the grain-floor of Ornan the Jebusite.ત્યારબાદ યહોવાના દૂતે ગાદને કહ્યું કે, “તું દાઉદને જઇને કહે કે, યબૂસી ઓર્નાનના ખળામાં યહોવાને પૂજવા એક વેદી બાંધે.”

19 And David went up, as Gad had said in the name of the Lord.યહોવાને નામે ગાદે જે કહ્યું હતું તે મુજબ દાઉદ ચાલી નીકળ્યો.

20 And Ornan, turning back, saw the angel, and his four sons who were with him went to a secret place. Now Ornan was crushing his grain.ઓર્નાને પાછું વળીને જોતાં દેવદૂતને જોયો. તેના પુત્રો નાસી ગયા અને છુપાઇ ગયા, પણ ઓર્નાન ઘઉં ઝૂડતો રહ્યો.

21 And when David came, Ornan, looking, saw him, and came out from the grain-floor and went down on his face to the earth before him.જ્યારે ઓર્નાને દાઉદને આવતો જોયો, ત્યારે તે ખળીમાંથી બહાર આવ્યો અને તેણે દાઉદને સાષ્ટાંગ દંડવત પ્રણામ કર્યા.

22 Then David said to Ornan, Give me the place where this grain-floor is, so that I may put up an altar here to the Lord: let me have it for its full price; so that this disease may be stopped among the people.દાઉદે તેને કહ્યું, “તું મને તારી ખળીની જગ્યા આપ જેથી હું યહોવાને માટે યજ્ઞવેદી બાંધુ. તો જ લોકોમાં ફેલાયેલો રોગચાળો બંધ થશે. હું તને એની પૂરેપૂરી કિંમત ચૂકવીશ.”

23 And Ornan said to David, Take it, and let my lord the king do what seems right to him. See, I give you the oxen for burned offerings and the grain-cleaning instruments for fire-wood, and the grain for the meal offering; I give it all.ઓર્નાને કહ્યું, “લઇ લો, અને આપ મુરબ્બીને જેમ ઠીક લાગે તેમ તેનું કરો. આ બળદોનું પણ દહનાર્પણ કરજો, આ ઝૂડવાના પાટિયા ઇંધણ તરીકે વાપરજો અને આ ઘઉંને ખાદ્યાર્પણ તરીકે ચઢાવજો. હું બધું જ આપને સોંપી દઉં છું.”

24 And King David said to Ornan, No; I will certainly give you the full price for it, because I will not take for the Lord what is yours, or give a burned offering without payment.પણ રાજા દાઉદે ઓર્નાનને કહ્યું, “ના પૂરી કિંમતે હું તે ખરીદીશ. યહોવાને અર્પણ કરવા માટે તારું જે છે તે હું મફત લઇ શકું નહિ. જેની કિંમત મેં ચૂકવી નથી તેનું અર્પણ હું તેમને નહિ ચઢાવું.”

25 So David gave Ornan six hundred shekels of gold by weight for the place.પછી દાઉદે ઓર્નાનને એ જમીનના માટે 15 પૌન્ડ સોનું આપ્યું.

26 And David put up an altar there to the Lord, offering burned offerings and peace-offerings with prayers to the Lord; and he gave him an answer from heaven, sending fire on the altar of burned offering.અને ત્યાં યહોવાને માટે તેણે વેદી બાંધી અને તેના પર તેણે દહનાર્પણ કર્યુ. તેણે તેની પર શાઁત્યર્પણ કર્યુ અને યહોવાનું આવાહન કર્યું. વેદી પર અગ્નિ ઉતારીને યહોવાએ તેને જવાબ આપ્યો.

27 Then the Lord gave orders to the angel, and he put back his sword into its cover.યહોવાએ દૂતને તરવાર મ્યાન કરવા કહ્યું અને દૂતે તે પ્રમાણે કર્યું.

28 At that time, when David saw that the Lord had given him an answer on the grain-floor of Ornan the Jebusite, he made an offering there.જ્યારે દાઉદે જોયું કે ઓર્નાનના ખળીમાં યહોવાએ તેની પ્રાર્થનાનો જવાબ આપ્યો છે, ત્યારે તેણે ત્યાં યજ્ઞ અર્પ્યા.

29 For the House of the Lord, which Moses had made in the waste land, and the altar of burned offerings, were at that time in the high place at Gibeon.એ વખતે મૂસાએ વગડામાં બનાવેલો યહોવાનો પવિત્ર મંડપ અને દહનાર્પણની વેદી હજી ગિબયોનના ઉચ્ચસ્થાન પર હતા.

30 But David was not able to go before it to get directions from the Lord, so great was his fear of the sword of the angel of the Lord.પરંતુ યહોવાના દૂતની તરવારનો દાઉદને એટલો બધો ડર લાગતો હતો કે યહોવાને દર્શને પણ જઇ શકતો નહોતો.
