தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் மனுஷனை நோக்கி: நீ தோட்டத்திலுள்ள சகல விருட்சத்தின் கனியையும் புசிக்கவே புசிக்கலாம்.

ஆதலால்: ஆண்டவர் சீயோன் மலையிலும் எருசலேமிலும் தமது செயலையெல்லாம் முடித்திருக்கும்போது, அசீரிய ராஜாவினுடைய பெருமையான நெஞ்சின் வினையையும், அவன் கண்களின் மேட்டிமையான பார்வையையும் நான் விசாரிப்பேன் என்கிறார்.

எனது ஆண்டவர், எருசலேமில் சீயோன் மலையிலும் செய்யவேண்டுமென்று திட்டமிட்டவற்றைச் செய்து முடிப்பார். பிறகு கர்த்தர் அசீரியாவைத் தண்டிப்பார். அசீரியாவின் அரசன் வீண் பெருமைகொண்டவன். அவனது பெருமை அவனைப் பல தீய செயல்களைச் செய்ய வைத்தது. எனவே, தேவன் அவனைத் தண்டிப்பார்.
