யாத்திராகமம் 32:6
மறுநாள் அவர்கள் அதிகாலையில் எழுந்து, சர்வாங்க தகனபலிகளையிட்டு, சமாதானபலிகளைச் செலுத்தினார்கள்; பின்பு, ஜனங்கள் புசிக்கவும் குடிக்கவும் உட்கார்ந்து, விளையாட எழுந்தார்கள்.

விக்கிரகங்களை உருவாக்குகிற அனைவரும் வீணர்கள்; அவர்களால் விரும்பப்பட்டவைகள் ஒன்றுக்கும் உதவாது; அவைகள் ஒன்றும் காணாமலும் ஒன்றும் அறியாமலும் இருக்கிறதென்று தங்களுக்கு வெட்கமுண்டாக அவைகளுக்குத் தாங்களே சாட்சிகளாயிருக்கிறார்கள்.

சில ஜனங்கள் சிலைகளைச் (பொய்த் தெய்வங்களை) செய்கிறார்கள். அவை வீணானவை. ஜனங்கள் அந்தச் சிலைகளை நேசிக்கிறார்கள். ஆனால் அந்தச் சிலைகள் பயனற்றவை. அந்த ஜனங்களே சிலைகளுக்குச் சாட்சிகளாக இருக்கிறார்கள். ஆனால் அவைகளால் பார்க்கமுடியாது. அவைகளுக்கு எதுவும் தெரியாது. அவர்கள் தம் செய்கைக்கு வெட்கப்படும் அளவிற்குத் தெரியாமல் இருக்கிறார்கள்.
