திருடன் அகப்படாதேபோனால், அந்த வீட்டுக்காரன் தானே பிறனுடைய பொருளை அபகரித்தானோ இல்லையோ என்று அறியும்படி நியாயாதிபதிகளிடத்தில் அவனைக் கொண்டுபோக வேண்டும்.

காணாமற்போன மாடு, கழுதை, ஆடு, வஸ்திரம் முதலியவைகளில் யாதொன்றைப் பிறனொருவன் தன்னுடையது என்று சொல்லி குற்றஞ்சாற்றினால், இருதிறத்தாருடைய வழக்கும் நியாயாதிபதிகளிடத்தில் வரக்கடவது; நியாயாதிபதிகள் எவனைக் குற்றவாளி என்று தீர்க்கிறார்களோ, அவன் மற்றவனுக்கு இரட்டிப்பாகக் கொடுக்கக்கடவன்.
