1 மூன்றாம் நாளிலே எஸ்தர் ராஜவஸ்திரந் தரித்துக்கொண்டு, ராஜ அரமனையின் உள்முற்றத்தில், ராஜா கொலுவிருக்கும் ஸ்தானத்துக்கு எதிராக வந்து நின்றாள்; ராஜா அரமனைவாசலுக்கு எதிரான கொலுமண்டபத்தில் ராஜாசனத்திலே வீற்றிருந்தான். Now it came to pass on the third day, that Esther put on her royal apparel, and stood in the inner court of the king's house, over against the king's house: and the king sat upon his royal throne in the royal house, over against the gate of the house.

2 ராஜா ராஜஸ்திரீயாகிய எஸ்தர் முற்றத்தில் நிற்கிறதைக் கண்டபோது, அவளுக்கு அவன் கண்களில் தயை கிடைத்ததினால், ராஜா தன் கையிலிருக்கிற பொற்செங்கோலை எஸ்தரிடத்திற்கு நீட்டினான்; அப்பொழுது எஸ்தர் கிட்டவந்து செங்கோலின் நுனியைத் தொட்டாள். And it was so, when the king saw Esther the queen standing in the court, that she obtained favour in his sight: and the king held out to Esther the golden sceptre that was in his hand. So Esther drew near, and touched the top of the sceptre.

3 ராஜா அவளை நோக்கி: எஸ்தர் ராஜாத்தியே, உனக்கு என்னவேண்டும்? நீ கேட்கிற மன்றாட்டு என்ன? நீ ராஜ்யத்தில் பாதிமட்டும் கேட்டாலும், உனக்குக் கொடுக்கப்படும் என்றான். Then said the king unto her, What wilt thou, queen Esther? and what is thy request? it shall be even given thee to the half of the kingdom.

4 அப்பொழுது எஸ்தர்: ராஜாவுக்குச் சித்தமானால், நான் தமக்குச் செய்வித்த விருந்துக்கு ராஜாவும் ஆமானும் இன்றைக்கு வரவேண்டும் என்றாள். And Esther answered, If it seem good unto the king, let the king and Haman come this day unto the banquet that I have prepared for him.

5 அப்பொழுது ராஜா எஸ்தர் சொற்படி செய்ய, ஆமானைத் தீவிரித்து வரும்படி சொல்லி, எஸ்தர் செய்த விருந்துக்கு ராஜாவும் ஆமானும் வந்தார்கள். Then the king said, Cause Haman to make haste, that he may do as Esther hath said. So the king and Haman came to the banquet that Esther had prepared.

6 விருந்திலே திராட்சரசம் பரிமாறப்படுகையில், ராஜா எஸ்தரைப் பார்த்து: உன் வேண்டுதல் என்ன? அது உனக்குக் கொடுக்கப்படும்; நீ கேட்கிறது என்ன? நீ ராஜ்யத்தில் பாதிமட்டும் கேட்டாலும் கிடைக்கும் என்றான். And the king said unto Esther at the banquet of wine, What is thy petition? and it shall be granted thee: and what is thy request? even to the half of the kingdom it shall be performed.

7 அதற்கு எஸ்தர் பிரதியுத்தரமாக: Then answered Esther, and said, My petition and my request is;

8 ராஜாவின் கண்களில் எனக்குக் கிருபைகிடைத்து, என் வேண்டுதலைக் கட்டளையிடவும், என் விண்ணப்பத்தின்படி செய்யவும், ராஜாவுக்குச் சித்தமாயிருந்தால், ராஜாவும் ஆமானும் நான் இன்னும் தங்களுக்குச் செய்யப்போகிற விருந்துக்கு வரவேண்டும் என்பதே என் வேண்டுதலும் என் விண்ணப்பமுமாயிருக்கிறது; நாளைக்கு ராஜாவின் சொற்படி செய்வேன் என்றாள். If I have found favour in the sight of the king, and if it please the king to grant my petition, and to perform my request, let the king and Haman come to the banquet that I shall prepare for them, and I will do to morrow as the king hath said.

9 அன்றைய தினம் ஆமான் சந்தோஷமும் மனமகிழ்ச்சியுமாய்ப் புறப்பட்டான்; ஆனாலும் ராஜாவின் அரமனை வாசலிலிருக்கிற மொர்தெகாய் தனக்கு முன் எழுந்திராமலும் அசையாமலும் இருக்கிறதை ஆமான் கண்டபோது, அவன் மொர்தெகாயின்மேல் உக்கிரம் நிறைந்தவனானான். Then went Haman forth that day joyful and with a glad heart: but when Haman saw Mordecai in the king's gate, that he stood not up, nor moved for him, he was full of indignation against Mordecai.

10 ஆகிலும் ஆமான் அதை அடக்கிக்கொண்டு, தன் வீட்டுக்கு வந்து, தன் சிநேகிதரையும் தன் மனைவியாகிய சிரேஷையும் அழைத்து, Nevertheless Haman refrained himself: and when he came home, he sent and called for his friends, and Zeresh his wife.

11 தன் ஐசுவரியத்தின் மகிமையையும், தன் பிள்ளைகளின் திரட்சியையும், ராஜா தன்னைப் பெரியவனாக்கி, தன்னைப் பிரபுக்கள்மேலும் ராஜாவின் ஊழியக்காரர்மேலும் உயர்த்தின எல்லாவற்றையும் ஆமான் அவர்களுக்கு விவரித்துச்சொன்னான். And Haman told them of the glory of his riches, and the multitude of his children, and all the things wherein the king had promoted him, and how he had advanced him above the princes and servants of the king.

12 பின்னையும் ஆமான்: ராஜஸ்திரீயாகிய எஸ்தரும் தான் செய்த விருந்துக்கு ராஜாவுடனேகூட என்னைத்தவிர வேறொருவரையும் அழைக்கவில்லை; நாளைக்கும் ராஜாவுடனேகூட நான் விருந்துக்கு வரவழைக்கப்பட்டிருக்கிறேன். Haman said moreover, Yea, Esther the queen did let no man come in with the king unto the banquet that she had prepared but myself; and to morrow am I invited unto her also with the king.

13 ஆனாலும் அந்த யூதனாகிய மொர்தெகாய் ராஜாவின் அரமனைவாசலில் உட்கார்ந்திருக்கிறதை நான் காணுமளவும் அவையெல்லாம் எனக்கு ஒன்றுமில்லையென்றான். Yet all this availeth me nothing, so long as I see Mordecai the Jew sitting at the king's gate.

14 அப்பொழுது அவன் மனைவியாகிய சிரேஷும் அவனுடைய சிநேகிதர் எல்லாரும் அவனைப் பார்த்து: ஐம்பதுமுழ உயரமான ஒரு தூக்குமரம் செய்யப்படவேண்டும்; அதிலே மொர்தெகாயை தூக்கிப்போடும்படி நாளையதினம் நீர் ராஜாவுக்குச் சொல்லவேண்டும்; பின்பு சந்தோஷமாய் ராஜாவுடனேகூட விருந்துக்குப்போகலாம் என்றார்கள்; இந்தக் காரியம் ஆமானுக்கு நன்றாய்க் கண்டதினால் தூக்குமரத்தைச் செய்வித்தான். Then said Zeresh his wife and all his friends unto him, Let a gallows be made of fifty cubits high, and to morrow speak thou unto the king that Mordecai may be hanged thereon: then go thou in merrily with the king unto the banquet. And the thing pleased Haman; and he caused the gallows to be made.

1 Moontam naalilae esthar raajavasthiran thariththukkonndu, raaja aramanaiyin ulmuttaththil, raajaa koluvirukkum sthaanaththukku ethiraaka vanthu nintal; raajaa aramanaivaasalukku ethiraana kolumanndapaththil raajaasanaththilae veettirunthaan. Now it came to pass on the third day, that Esther put on her royal apparel, and stood in the inner court of the king's house, over against the king's house: and the king sat upon his royal throne in the royal house, over against the gate of the house.

2 Raajaa raajasthireeyaakiya esthar muttaththil nirkirathaik kanndapothu, avalukku avan kannkalil thayai kitaiththathinaal, raajaa than kaiyilirukkira porsengaோlai estharidaththirku neettinaan; appoluthu esthar kittavanthu sengaோlin nuniyaith thottal. And it was so, when the king saw Esther the queen standing in the court, that she obtained favour in his sight: and the king held out to Esther the golden sceptre that was in his hand. So Esther drew near, and touched the top of the sceptre.

3 Raajaa avalai Nnokki: esthar raajaaththiyae, unakku ennavaenndum? Nee kaetkira mantattu enna? Nee raajyaththil paathimattum kaettalum, unakkuk kodukkappadum entan. Then said the king unto her, What wilt thou, queen Esther? and what is thy request? it shall be even given thee to the half of the kingdom.

4 Appoluthu esthar: raajaavukkuch siththamaanaal, naan thamakkuch seyviththa virunthukku raajaavum aamaanum intaikku varavaenndum ental. And Esther answered, If it seem good unto the king, let the king and Haman come this day unto the banquet that I have prepared for him.

5 Appoluthu raajaa esthar sorpati seyya, aamaanaith theeviriththu varumpati solli, esthar seytha virunthukku raajaavum aamaanum vanthaarkal. Then the king said, Cause Haman to make haste, that he may do as Esther hath said. So the king and Haman came to the banquet that Esther had prepared.

6 Virunthilae thiraatcharasam parimaarappadukaiyil, raajaa estharaip paarththu: un vaennduthal enna? Athu unakkuk kodukkappadum; nee kaetkirathu enna? Nee raajyaththil paathimattum kaettalum kitaikkum entan. And the king said unto Esther at the banquet of wine, What is thy petition? and it shall be granted thee: and what is thy request? even to the half of the kingdom it shall be performed.

7 Atharku esthar pirathiyuththaramaaka: Then answered Esther, and said, My petition and my request is;

8 Raajaavin kannkalil enakkuk kirupaikitaiththu, en vaennduthalaik kattalaiyidavum, en vinnnappaththinpati seyyavum, raajaavukkuch siththamaayirunthaal, raajaavum aamaanum naan innum thangalukkuch seyyappokira virunthukku varavaenndum enpathae en vaennduthalum en vinnnappamumaayirukkirathu; naalaikku raajaavin sorpati seyvaen ental. If I have found favour in the sight of the king, and if it please the king to grant my petition, and to perform my request, let the king and Haman come to the banquet that I shall prepare for them, and I will do to morrow as the king hath said.

9 Antaiya thinam aamaan santhoshamum manamakilchchiyumaayp purappattan; aanaalum raajaavin aramanai vaasalilirukkira morthekaay thanakku mun elunthiraamalum asaiyaamalum irukkirathai aamaan kanndapothu, avan morthekaayinmael ukkiram nirainthavanaanaan. 10 Aakilum aamaan athai adakkikkonndu, than veettukku vanthu, than sinaekitharaiyum than manaiviyaakiya siraeshaiyum alaiththu, Nevertheless Haman refrained himself: and when he came home, he sent and called for his friends, and Zeresh his wife.

11 Than aisuvariyaththin makimaiyaiyum, than pillaikalin thiratchiyaiyum, raajaa thannaip periyavanaakki, thannaip pirapukkalmaelum raajaavin ooliyakkaararmaelum uyarththina ellaavattaைyum aamaan avarkalukku vivariththuchchaொnnaan. 12 Pinnaiyum aamaan: raajasthireeyaakiya estharum thaan seytha virunthukku raajaavudanaekooda ennaiththavira vaeroruvaraiyum alaikkavillai; naalaikkum raajaavudanaekooda naan virunthukku varavalaikkappattirukkiraேn. Haman said moreover, Yea, Esther the queen did let no man come in with the king unto the banquet that she had prepared but myself; and to morrow am I invited unto her also with the king.

13 Aanaalum antha yoothanaakiya morthekaay raajaavin aramanaivaasalil utkaarnthirukkirathai naan kaanumalavum avaiyellaam enakku ontumillaiyentan. Yet all this availeth me nothing, so long as I see Mordecai the Jew sitting at the king's gate.

14 Appoluthu avan manaiviyaakiya siraeshum avanutaiya sinaekithar ellaarum avanaip paarththu: aimpathumula uyaramaana oru thookkumaram seyyappadavaenndum; athilae morthekaayai thookkippodumpati naalaiyathinam neer raajaavukkuch sollavaenndum; pinpu santhoshamaay raajaavudanaekooda virunthukkuppokalaam entarkal; inthak kaariyam aamaanukku nantayk kanndathinaal thookkumaraththaich seyviththaan. Then said Zeresh his wife and all his friends unto him, Let a gallows be made of fifty cubits high, and to morrow speak thou unto the king that Mordecai may be hanged thereon: then go thou in merrily with the king unto the banquet. And the thing pleased Haman; and he caused the gallows to be made.
