யெஷூரன் கொழுத்துப்போய் உதைத்தான், கொழுத்து, ஸ்தூலித்து, நிணம் துன்னினபோது, தன்னை உண்டாக்கின தேவனை விட்டு, தன் ரட்சிப்பின் கன்மலையை அசட்டைபண்ணினான்.

இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரர்மேல் ராஜாக்கள் அரசாளுகிறதற்கு முன்னே, ஏதோம் தேசத்தில் ஆண்ட ராஜாக்களாவன:

இந்த வனாந்தரத்தில் எங்களைக் கொன்றுபோடும்படி, பாலும் தேனும் ஓடுகிற தேசத்திலிருந்து எங்களைக் கொண்டுவந்தது அற்பகாரியமோ, எங்கள்மேல் துரைத்தனமும் பண்ணப்பார்க்கிறாயோ?

அவர் யாக்கோபிலே அக்கிரமத்தைக் காண்கிறதும் இல்லை, இஸ்ரவேலிலே குற்றம் பார்க்கிறதும் இல்லை; அவர்களுடைய தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் அவர்களோடே இருக்கிறார்; ராஜாவின் ஜயகெம்பீரம் அவர்களுக்குள்ளே இருக்கிறது.

அப்பொழுது இஸ்ரவேல் மனுஷர் கிதியோனை நோக்கி: நீர் எங்களை மீதியானியர் கைக்கு நீங்கலாக்கிவிட்டபடியினால் நீரும் உம்முடைய குமாரனும், உம்முடைய குமாரனின் குமாரனும், எங்களை ஆளக்கடவீர்கள் என்றார்கள்.

யெருபாகாலின் குமாரர் எழுபதுபேராகிய எல்லாரும் உங்களை ஆளுவது உங்களுக்கு நல்லதோ, ஒருவன் மாத்திரம் உங்களை ஆளுவது உங்களுக்கு நல்லதோ என்று நீங்கள் சீகேமிலிருக்கிற சகல பெரிய மனுஷரின் காதுகளும் கேட்கப்பேசுங்கள்; நான் உங்கள் எலும்பும் உங்கள் மாம்சமுமானவன் என்று நினைத்துக்கொள்ளுங்கள் என்றான்.
