தானியேல் ராஜாவினிடத்தில்போய், சொப்பனத்தின் அர்த்தத்தை ராஜாவுக்குக் காண்பிக்கும்படித் தனக்குத் தவணை கொடுக்க விண்ணப்பம் பண்ணினான்.

தானியேல் இச்செய்தியை அறிந்ததும் அரசனான நேபுகாத்நேச்சாரிடம் சென்றான். தானியேல் அரசனிடம் இன்னும் கொஞ்சம் கால அவகாசம் கொடுக்கும்படி கேட்டான். பிறகு அவனால் அரசனது கனவையும் அதன் பொருளையும் சொல்ல முடியும் என்றான்.
