Psalm 137 in Tamil

1 பாபிலோன் ஆறுகள் அருகே நாங்கள் உட்கார்ந்து, அங்கே சீயோனை நினைத்து அழுதோம். By the rivers of Babylon, there we sat down, yea, we wept, when we remembered Zion.

2 அதின் நடுவிலிருக்கும் அலரிச்செடிகளின்மேல் எங்கள் கின்னரங்களைத் தூக்கிவைத்தோம். We hanged our harps upon the willows in the midst thereof.

3 எங்களைச் சிறைபிடித்தவர்கள் அங்கே எங்கள் பாடல்களையும், எங்களைப் பாழாக்கினவர்கள் மங்கள சத்தத்தையும் விரும்பி; சீயோனின் பாட்டுகளில் சிலதை எங்களுக்குப் பாடுங்கள் என்று சொன்னார்கள். For there they that carried us away captive required of us a song; and they that wasted us required of us mirth, saying, Sing us one of the songs of Zion.

4 கர்த்தரின் பாட்டை அந்நியதேசத்தில் நாங்கள் பாடுவதெப்படி? How shall we sing the LORD's song in a strange land?

5 எருசலேமே, நான் உன்னை மறந்தால் என் வலதுகை தன் தொழிலை மறப்பதாக. If I forget thee, O Jerusalem, let my right hand forget her cunning.

6 நான் உன்னை நினையாமலும், எருசலேமை என் முக்கியமான மகிழ்ச்சியிலும் அதிகமாக எண்ணாமலும்போனால், என் நாவு என் மேல்வாயோடு ஒட்டிக்கொள்வதாக. If I do not remember thee, let my tongue cleave to the roof of my mouth; if I prefer not Jerusalem above my chief joy.

7 கர்த்தாவே, எருசலேமின் நாளிலே ஏதோமின் புத்திரரை நினையும்; அவர்கள்: அதை இடித்துப்போடுங்கள், அஸ்திபாரமட்டும் இடித்துப்போடுங்கள் என்று சொன்னார்களே. Remember, O LORD, the children of Edom in the day of Jerusalem; who said, Rase it, rase it, even to the foundation thereof.

8 பாபிலோன் குமாரத்தியே, பாழாய்ப்போகிறவளே, நீ எங்களுக்குச் செய்தபடி உனக்குப் பதில் செய்கிறவன் பாக்கியவான். O daughter of Babylon, who art to be destroyed; happy shall he be, that rewardeth thee as thou hast served us.

9 உன் குழந்தைகளைப் பிடித்து, கல்லின்மேல் மோதியடிக்கிறவன் பாக்கியவான். Happy shall he be, that taketh and dasheth thy little ones against the stones.

2 Athin naduvilirukkum alarichchetikalinmael engal kinnarangalaith thookkivaiththom. We hanged our harps upon the willows in the midst thereof.

3 Engalaich siraipitiththavarkal angae engal paadalkalaiyum, engalaip paalaakkinavarkal mangala saththaththaiyum virumpi; seeyonin paattukalil silathai engalukkup paadungal entu sonnaarkal. 4 Karththarin paattaை anniyathaesaththil naangal paaduvatheppati? How shall we sing the LORD's song in a strange land?

5 Erusalaemae, naan unnai maranthaal en valathukai than tholilai marappathaaka. If I forget thee, O Jerusalem, let my right hand forget her cunning.

6 Naan unnai ninaiyaamalum, erusalaemai en mukkiyamaana makilchchiyilum athikamaaka ennnnaamalumponaal, en naavu en maelvaayodu ottikkolvathaaka. If I do not remember thee, let my tongue cleave to the roof of my mouth; if I prefer not Jerusalem above my chief joy.

7 Karththaavae, erusalaemin naalilae aethomin puththirarai ninaiyum; avarkal: athai itiththuppodungal, asthipaaramattum itiththuppodungal entu sonnaarkalae. Remember, O LORD, the children of Edom in the day of Jerusalem; who said, Rase it, rase it, even to the foundation thereof.

8 Paapilon kumaaraththiyae, paalaayppokiravalae, nee engalukkuch seythapati unakkup pathil seykiravan paakkiyavaan. O daughter of Babylon, who art to be destroyed; happy shall he be, that rewardeth thee as thou hast served us.

9 Un kulanthaikalaip pitiththu, kallinmael mothiyatikkiravan paakkiyavaan. Happy shall he be, that taketh and dasheth thy little ones against the stones.
