கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிறது என்னவென்றால்; இதோ, பாத்திரத்தில் குடிக்கவேண்டுமென்கிற நியாயத்தீர்ப்புக்கு உள்ளாயிராதவர்கள் அதில் குடித்தார்கள்; நீ குற்றமற்று நீங்கலாயிருப்பாயோ? நீ நீங்கலாயிராமல் அதில் நிச்சயமாய்க் குடிப்பாய்.

கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிறது என்னவென்றால்: இதோ, பாத்திரத்தில் குடிக்கவேண்டுமென்கிற நியாயத்தீர்ப்புக்கு உள்ளாகாதவர்கள் அதில் குடித்தார்கள்; நீ குற்றமற்று நீங்கலாயிருப்பாயோ? நீ நீங்கலாயிராமல் அதில் கண்டிப்பாகக் குடிப்பாய்.

இதுதான் கர்த்தர் சொல்கிறது: “சில ஜனங்கள் தண்டிக்கப்படத்தக்கவர் அல்ல. ஆனால் அவர்கள் துன்புறுகிறார்கள். ஆனால் ஏதோம் நீ தண்டிக்கப்படத் தகுதி உள்ளவன். எனவே, நீ உண்மையாகத் தண்டிக்கப்படுவாய். உனக்கேற்ற தண்டனையிலிருந்து நீ தப்பிக்கமாட்டாய் நீ தண்டிக்கப்படுவாய்.”
