1 அவர் மறுபடியும் கடலோரத்திலே போதகம்பண்ணத் தொடங்கினார். திரளான ஜனங்கள் அவரிடத்தில் கூடிவந்தபடியால், அவர் கடலிலே நின்ற ஒரு படவில் ஏறி உட்கார்ந்தார்; ஜனங்களெல்லாரும் கடற்கரையில் நின்றார்கள். And he began again to teach by the sea side: and there was gathered unto him a great multitude, so that he entered into a ship, and sat in the sea; and the whole multitude was by the sea on the land.

2 அவர் அநேக விசேஷங்களை உவமைகளாக அவர்களுக்குப் போதித்தார்; போதிக்கிறபொழுது அவர்களுக்குச் சொன்னது: And he taught them many things by parables, and said unto them in his doctrine,

3 கேளுங்கள், விதைக்கிறவன் ஒருவன் விதைக்கப் புறப்பட்டான். Hearken; Behold, there went out a sower to sow:

4 அவன் விதைக்கையில், சில விதை வழியருகே விழுந்தது; ஆகாயத்துப் பறவைகள் வந்து அதைப் பட்சித்துப்போட்டது. And it came to pass, as he sowed, some fell by the way side, and the fowls of the air came and devoured it up.

5 சில விதை அதிக மண்ணில்லாத கற்பாறை நிலத்தில் விழுந்தது; அதற்கு ஆழமான மண்ணில்லாததினாலே சீக்கிரத்தில் முளைத்தது. And some fell on stony ground, where it had not much earth; and immediately it sprang up, because it had no depth of earth:

6 வெயில் ஏறினபோதோ, தீய்ந்துபோய், வேரில்லாமையால் உலர்ந்து போயிற்று. But when the sun was up, it was scorched; and because it had no root, it withered away.

7 சில விதை முள்ளுள்ள இடங்களில் விழுந்தது; முள் வளர்ந்து, அது பலன் கொடாதபடி அதை நெருக்கிப்போட்டது. And some fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up, and choked it, and it yielded no fruit.

8 சில விதை நல்ல நிலத்தில் விழுந்து, ஓங்கிவளருகிற பயிராகி, ஒன்று முப்பதும், ஒன்று அறுபதும், ஒன்று நூறுமாகப் பலன் தந்தது. And other fell on good ground, and did yield fruit that sprang up and increased; and brought forth, some thirty, and some sixty, and some an hundred.

9 கேட்கிறதற்குக் காதுள்ளவன் கேட்கக்கடவன் என்று அவர்களுக்குச் சொன்னார். And he said unto them, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.

10 அவர் தனித்திருக்கிறபோது, பன்னிருவரோடுங்கூட அவரைச் சூழ்ந்திருந்தவர்கள் இந்த உவமையைக் குறித்து அவரிடத்தில் கேட்டார்கள். And when he was alone, they that were about him with the twelve asked of him the parable.

11 அதற்கு அவர்: தேவனுடைய ராஜ்யத்தின் இரகசியத்தை அறியும்படி உங்களுக்கு அருளப்பட்டது. புறம்பே இருக்கிறவர்களுக்கோ இவைகளெல்லாம் உவமைகளாகச் சொல்லப்படுகிறது. And he said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables:

12 அவர்கள் குணப்படாதபடிக்கும், பாவங்கள் அவர்களுக்கு மன்னிக்கப்படாதபடிக்கும், அவர்கள் கண்டும் காணாதவர்களாகவும், கேட்டும் உணராதவர்களாகவும் இருக்கும்படி, இப்படிச் சொல்லப்படுகிறது என்றார். That seeing they may see, and not perceive; and hearing they may hear, and not understand; lest at any time they should be converted, and their sins should be forgiven them.

13 பின்பு அவர் அவர்களை நோக்கி: இந்த உவமையை நீங்கள் அறியவில்லையா? அறியாவிட்டால் மற்ற உவமைகளையெல்லாம் எப்படி அறிவீர்கள்? And he said unto them, Know ye not this parable? and how then will ye know all parables?

14 விதைக்கிறவன் வசனத்தை விதைக்கிறான். The sower soweth the word.

15 வசனத்தைக் கேட்டவுடனே, சாத்தான் வந்து, அவர்கள் இருதயங்களில் விதைக்கப்பட்ட வசனத்தை எடுத்துப்போடுகிறான். இவர்களே வசனம் விதைக்கப்படுகிற வழியருகானவர்கள். And these are they by the way side, where the word is sown; but when they have heard, Satan cometh immediately, and taketh away the word that was sown in their hearts.

16 அப்படியே, வசனத்தைக் கேட்டவுடனே அதைச் சந்தோஷத்தோடு ஏற்றுக்கொண்டும், And these are they likewise which are sown on stony ground; who, when they have heard the word, immediately receive it with gladness;

17 தங்களுக்குள்ளே வேர்கொள்ளாதபடியால், கொஞ்சக்காலமாத்திரம் நிலைத்திருக்கிறார்கள், வசனத்தினிமித்தம் உபத்திரவமும் துன்பமும் உண்டானவுடனே இடறலடைகிறார்கள்; இவர்களே கற்பாறை நிலத்தில் விதைக்கப்பட்டவர்கள். And have no root in themselves, and so endure but for a time: afterward, when affliction or persecution ariseth for the word's sake, immediately they are offended.

18 வசனத்தைக் கேட்டும், உலகக்கவலைகளும், ஐசுவரியத்தின் மயக்கமும், மற்றவைகளைப்பற்றி உண்டாகிற இச்சைகளும் உட்பிரவேசித்து, வசனத்தை நெருக்கிப் போட, அதினால் பலனற்றுப்போகிறார்கள்; And these are they which are sown among thorns; such as hear the word,

19 இவர்களே முள்ளுள்ள இடங்களில் விதைக்கப்பட்டவர்கள். And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful.

20 வசனத்தைக் கேட்டு, ஏற்றுக்கொண்டு, ஒன்று முப்பதும், ஒன்று அறுபதும், ஒன்று நூறுமாகப் பலன்கொடுக்கிறார்கள்; இவர்களே நல்ல நிலத்தில் விதைக்கப்பட்டவர்கள் என்றார். And these are they which are sown on good ground; such as hear the word, and receive it, and bring forth fruit, some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some an hundred.

21 பின்னும் அவர் அவர்களை நோக்கி: விளக்கைத் தண்டின்மேல் வைக்கிறதற்கேயன்றி, மரக்காலின் கீழாகிலும், கட்டிலின் கீழாகிலும், வைக்கிறதற்குக் கொண்டுவருவார்களா? And he said unto them, Is a candle brought to be put under a bushel, or under a bed? and not to be set on a candlestick?

22 வெளியரங்கமாகாத அந்தரங்கமுமில்லை, வெளிக்கு வராத மறைபொருளுமில்லை. For there is nothing hid, which shall not be manifested; neither was any thing kept secret, but that it should come abroad.

23 கேட்கிறதற்கு ஒருவன் காதுள்ளவனாயிருந்தால் கேட்கக்கடவன் என்றார். If any man have ears to hear, let him hear.

24 பின்னும் அவர் அவர்களை நோக்கி: நீங்கள் கேட்கிறதைக் கவனியுங்கள், எந்த அளவினால் அளக்கிறீர்களோ, அந்த அளவினால் உங்களுக்கும் அளக்கப்படும்; கேட்கிற உங்களுக்கு அதிகம் கொடுக்கப்படும். And he said unto them, Take heed what ye hear: with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you: and unto you that hear shall more be given.

25 உள்ளவனெவனோ அவனுக்குக் கொடுக்கப்படும்; இல்லாதவனெவனோ அவனிடத்தில் உள்ளதும் எடுத்துக்கொள்ளப்படும் என்றார். For he that hath, to him shall be given: and he that hath not, from him shall be taken even that which he hath.

26 பின்னும் அவர் அவர்களை நோக்கி: தேவனுடைய ராஜ்யமானது, ஒரு மனுஷன் நிலத்தில் விதையை விதைத்து; And he said, So is the kingdom of God, as if a man should cast seed into the ground;

27 இரவில் தூங்கி, பகலில் விழித்திருக்க, அவனுக்குத் தெரியாதவிதமாய், விதை முளைத்துப் பயிராகிறதற்கு ஒப்பாயிருக்கிறது. And should sleep, and rise night and day, and the seed should spring and grow up, he knoweth not how.

28 எப்படியென்றால், நிலமானது முன்பு முளையையும், பின்பு கதிரையும், கதிரிலே நிறைந்த தானியத்தையும் பலனாகத் தானாய்க் கொடுக்கும். For the earth bringeth forth fruit of herself; first the blade, then the ear, after that the full corn in the ear.

29 பயிர் விளைந்து அறுப்புக்காலம் வந்தவுடனே, அறுக்கிறதற்கு ஆட்களை அனுப்புகிறான் என்றார். But when the fruit is brought forth, immediately he putteth in the sickle, because the harvest is come.

30 பின்னும் அவர் அவர்களை நோக்கி: தேவனுடைய ராஜ்யத்தை எதற்கு ஒப்பிடுவோம்? அல்லது எந்த உவமையினாலே அதைத் திருஷ்டாந்தப்படுத்துவோம்? And he said, Whereunto shall we liken the kingdom of God? or with what comparison shall we compare it?

31 அது ஒரு கடுகு விதைக்கு ஒப்பாயிருக்கிறது; அது பூமியில் விதைக்கப்படும்போது பூமியிலுள்ள சகல விதைகளிலும் சிறிதாயிருக்கிறது; It is like a grain of mustard seed, which, when it is sown in the earth, is less than all the seeds that be in the earth:

32 விதைக்கப்பட்டபின்போ, அது வளர்ந்து, சகல பூண்டுகளிலும் பெரிதாகி, ஆகாயத்துப்பறவைகள் அதினுடைய நிழலின்கீழ் வந்தடையத்தக்க பெரிய கிளைகளை விடும் என்றார். But when it is sown, it groweth up, and becometh greater than all herbs, and shooteth out great branches; so that the fowls of the air may lodge under the shadow of it.

33 அவர்கள் கேட்டறியும் திராணிக்குத்தக்கதாக, அவர் இப்படிப்பட்ட அநேக உவமைகளினாலே அவர்களுக்கு வசனத்தைச் சொன்னார். And with many such parables spake he the word unto them, as they were able to hear it.

34 உவமைகளினாலேயன்றி அவர்களுக்கு ஒன்றும் சொல்லவில்லை; அவர் தம்முடைய சீஷரோடே தனித்திருக்கும்போது, அவர்களுக்கு எல்லாவற்றையும் விவரித்துச்சொன்னார். But without a parable spake he not unto them: and when they were alone, he expounded all things to his disciples.

35 அன்று சாயங்காலத்தில், அவர் அவர்களை நோக்கி: அக்கரைக்குப் போவோம் வாருங்கள் என்றார். And the same day, when the even was come, he saith unto them, Let us pass over unto the other side.

36 அவர் ஜனங்களை அனுப்பிவிட்டு, அவர் படவிலிருந்தபடியே அவரைக் கொண்டுபோனார்கள். வேறே படவுகளும் அவரோடேகூட இருந்தது. And when they had sent away the multitude, they took him even as he was in the ship. And there were also with him other little ships.

37 அப்பொழுது, பலத்த சுழல்காற்று உண்டாகி, படவு நிரம்பத்தக்கதாக, அலைகள் அதின்மேல் மோதிற்று. And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full.

38 கப்பலின் பின்னணியத்தில் அவர் தலையணை வைத்து நித்திரையாயிருந்தார். அவர்கள் அவரை எழுப்பி: போதகரே, நாங்கள் மடிந்து போகிறது உமக்குக் கவலையில்லையா என்றார்கள். And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish?

39 அவர் எழுந்து, காற்றை அதட்டி, கடலைப்பார்த்து: இரையாதே, அமைதலாயிரு என்றார். அப்பொழுது காற்று நின்றுபோய், மிகுந்த அமைதலுண்டாயிற்று. And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.

40 அவர் அவர்களை நோக்கி: ஏன் இப்படிப் பயப்படுகிறீர்கள்? ஏன் உங்களுக்கு விசுவாசம் இல்லாமற்போயிற்று என்றார். And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith?

41 அவர்கள் மிகவும் பயந்து: இவர் யாரோ? காற்றும் கடலும் இவருக்குக் கீழ்ப்படிகிறதே என்று, ஒருவரோடொருவர் சொல்லிக்கொண்டார்கள். And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?

1 Avar maraுpatiyum kadaloraththilae pothakampannnath thodanginaar. Thiralaana janangal avaridaththil kootivanthapatiyaal, avar kadalilae ninta oru padavil aeri utkaarnthaar; janangalellaarum kadarkaraiyil nintarkal. And he began again to teach by the sea side: and there was gathered unto him a great multitude, so that he entered into a ship, and sat in the sea; and the whole multitude was by the sea on the land.

2 Avar anaeka viseshangalai uvamaikalaaka avarkalukkup pothiththaar; pothikkirapoluthu avarkalukkuch sonnathu: And he taught them many things by parables, and said unto them in his doctrine,

3 Kaelungal, vithaikkiravan oruvan vithaikkap purappattan. Hearken; Behold, there went out a sower to sow:

4 Avan vithaikkaiyil, sila vithai valiyarukae vilunthathu; aakaayaththup paravaikal vanthu athaip patchiththuppottathu. And it came to pass, as he sowed, some fell by the way side, and the fowls of the air came and devoured it up.

5 Sila vithai athika mannnnillaatha karpaarai nilaththil vilunthathu; atharku aalamaana mannnnillaathathinaalae seekkiraththil mulaiththathu. And some fell on stony ground, where it had not much earth; and immediately it sprang up, because it had no depth of earth:

6 Veyil aerinapotho, theeynthupoy, vaerillaamaiyaal ularnthu poyittaு. But when the sun was up, it was scorched; and because it had no root, it withered away.

7 Sila vithai mullulla idangalil vilunthathu; mul valarnthu, athu palan kodaathapati athai nerukkippottathu. And some fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up, and choked it, and it yielded no fruit.

8 Sila vithai nalla nilaththil vilunthu, ongivalarukira payiraaki, ontu muppathum, ontu araுpathum, ontu nooraுmaakap palan thanthathu. And other fell on good ground, and did yield fruit that sprang up and increased; and brought forth, some thirty, and some sixty, and some an hundred.

9 Kaetkiratharkuk kaathullavan kaetkakkadavan entu avarkalukkuch sonnaar. And he said unto them, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.

10 Avar thaniththirukkirapothu, panniruvarodungaூda avaraich soolnthirunthavarkal intha uvamaiyaik kuriththu avaridaththil kaettarkal. And when he was alone, they that were about him with the twelve asked of him the parable.

11 Atharku avar: thaevanutaiya raajyaththin irakasiyaththai ariyumpati ungalukku arulappattathu. Purampae irukkiravarkalukko ivaikalellaam uvamaikalaakach sollappadukirathu. And he said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables:

12 Avarkal kunappadaathapatikkum, paavangal avarkalukku mannikkappadaathapatikkum, avarkal kanndum kaannaathavarkalaakavum, kaettum unaraathavarkalaakavum irukkumpati, ippatich sollappadukirathu entar. That seeing they may see, and not perceive; and hearing they may hear, and not understand; lest at any time they should be converted, and their sins should be forgiven them.

13 Pinpu avar avarkalai Nnokki: intha uvamaiyai neengal ariyavillaiyaa? Ariyaavittal matta uvamaikalaiyellaam eppati ariveerkal? And he said unto them, Know ye not this parable? and how then will ye know all parables?

14 Vithaikkiravan vasanaththai vithaikkiraan. The sower soweth the word.

15 Vasanaththaik kaettavudanae, saaththaan vanthu, avarkal iruthayangalil vithaikkappatta vasanaththai eduththuppodukiraan. Ivarkalae vasanam vithaikkappadukira valiyarukaanavarkal. And these are they by the way side, where the word is sown; but when they have heard, Satan cometh immediately, and taketh away the word that was sown in their hearts.

16 Appatiyae, vasanaththaik kaettavudanae athaich santhoshaththodu aettaுkkonndum, And these are they likewise which are sown on stony ground; who, when they have heard the word, immediately receive it with gladness;

17 Thangalukkullae vaerkollaathapatiyaal, konjakkaalamaaththiram nilaiththirukkiraarkal, vasanaththinimiththam upaththiravamum thunpamum unndaanavudanae idaralataikiraarkal; ivarkalae karpaarai nilaththil vithaikkappattavarkal. And have no root in themselves, and so endure but for a time: afterward, when affliction or persecution ariseth for the word's sake, immediately they are offended.

18 Vasanaththaik kaettum, ulakakkavalaikalum, aisuvariyaththin mayakkamum, mattavaikalaippatti unndaakira ichchaைkalum utpiravaesiththu, vasanaththai nerukkip poda, athinaal palanattaுppokiraarkal; And these are they which are sown among thorns; such as hear the word,

19 Ivarkalae mullulla idangalil vithaikkappattavarkal. And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful.

20 Vasanaththaik kaettu, aettaுkkonndu, ontu muppathum, ontu araுpathum, ontu nooraுmaakap palankodukkiraarkal; ivarkalae nalla nilaththil vithaikkappattavarkal entar. And these are they which are sown on good ground; such as hear the word, and receive it, and bring forth fruit, some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some an hundred.

21 Pinnum avar avarkalai Nnokki: vilakkaith thanntinmael vaikkiratharkaeyanti, marakkaalin geelaakilum, kattilin geelaakilum, vaikkiratharkuk konnduvaruvaarkalaa? And he said unto them, Is a candle brought to be put under a bushel, or under a bed? and not to be set on a candlestick?

22 Veliyarangamaakaatha antharangamumillai, velikku varaatha maraiporulumillai. For there is nothing hid, which shall not be manifested; neither was any thing kept secret, but that it should come abroad.

23 Kaetkiratharku oruvan kaathullavanaayirunthaal kaetkakkadavan entar. If any man have ears to hear, let him hear.

24 Pinnum avar avarkalai Nnokki: neengal kaetkirathaik kavaniyungal, entha alavinaal alakkireerkalo, antha alavinaal ungalukkum alakkappadum; kaetkira ungalukku athikam kodukkappadum. And he said unto them, Take heed what ye hear: with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you: and unto you that hear shall more be given.

25 Ullavanevano avanukkuk kodukkappadum; illaathavanevano avanidaththil ullathum eduththukkollappadum entar. For he that hath, to him shall be given: and he that hath not, from him shall be taken even that which he hath.

26 Pinnum avar avarkalai Nnokki: thaevanutaiya raajyamaanathu, oru manushan nilaththil vithaiyai vithaiththu; And he said, So is the kingdom of God, as if a man should cast seed into the ground;

27 Iravil thoongi, pakalil viliththirukka, avanukkuth theriyaathavithamaay, vithai mulaiththup payiraakiratharku oppaayirukkirathu. And should sleep, and rise night and day, and the seed should spring and grow up, he knoweth not how.

28 Eppatiyental, nilamaanathu munpu mulaiyaiyum, pinpu kathiraiyum, kathirilae niraintha thaaniyaththaiyum palanaakath thaanaayk kodukkum. For the earth bringeth forth fruit of herself; first the blade, then the ear, after that the full corn in the ear.

29 Payir vilainthu araுppukkaalam vanthavudanae, araுkkiratharku aatkalai anuppukiraan entar. But when the fruit is brought forth, immediately he putteth in the sickle, because the harvest is come.

30 Pinnum avar avarkalai Nnokki: thaevanutaiya raajyaththai etharku oppiduvom? Allathu entha uvamaiyinaalae athaith thirushdaanthappaduththuvom? And he said, Whereunto shall we liken the kingdom of God? or with what comparison shall we compare it?

31 Athu oru kaduku vithaikku oppaayirukkirathu; athu poomiyil vithaikkappadumpothu poomiyilulla sakala vithaikalilum sirithaayirukkirathu; It is like a grain of mustard seed, which, when it is sown in the earth, is less than all the seeds that be in the earth:

32 Vithaikkappattapinpo, athu valarnthu, sakala poonndukalilum perithaaki, aakaayaththupparavaikal athinutaiya nilalingeel vanthataiyaththakka periya kilaikalai vidum entar. But when it is sown, it groweth up, and becometh greater than all herbs, and shooteth out great branches; so that the fowls of the air may lodge under the shadow of it.

33 Avarkal kaettariyum thiraannikkuththakkathaaka, avar ippatippatta anaeka uvamaikalinaalae avarkalukku vasanaththaich sonnaar. And with many such parables spake he the word unto them, as they were able to hear it.

34 Uvamaikalinaalaeyanti avarkalukku ontum sollavillai; avar thammutaiya seesharotae thaniththirukkumpothu, avarkalukku ellaavattaைyum vivariththuchchaொnnaar. But without a parable spake he not unto them: and when they were alone, he expounded all things to his disciples.

35 Antu saayangaalaththil, avar avarkalai Nnokki: akkaraikkup povom vaarungal entar. And the same day, when the even was come, he saith unto them, Let us pass over unto the other side.

36 Avar janangalai anuppivittu, avar padavilirunthapatiyae avaraik konnduponaarkal. Vaeraே padavukalum avarotaekooda irunthathu. And when they had sent away the multitude, they took him even as he was in the ship. And there were also with him other little ships.

37 Appoluthu, palaththa sulalkaattaு unndaaki, padavu nirampaththakkathaaka, alaikal athinmael mothittaு. And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full.

38 Kappalin pinnanniyaththil avar thalaiyannai vaiththu niththiraiyaayirunthaar. Avarkal avarai eluppi: pothakarae, naangal matinthu pokirathu umakkuk kavalaiyillaiyaa entarkal. And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish?

39 Avar elunthu, kaattaை athatti, kadalaippaarththu: iraiyaathae, amaithalaayiru entar. Appoluthu kaattaு nintupoy, mikuntha amaithalunndaayittaு. And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.

40 Avar avarkalai Nnokki: aen ippatip payappadukireerkal? Aen ungalukku visuvaasam illaamarpoyittaு entar. And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith?

41 Avarkal mikavum payanthu: ivar yaaro? Kaattaுm kadalum ivarukkuk geelppatikirathae entu, oruvarotoruvar sollikkonndaarkal. And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?
