1 எப்பிராயீம் மனுஷர் ஏகமாய்க் கூடி வடக்கே புறப்பட்டுப்போய், யெப்தாவை நோக்கி: நீ எங்களை உன்னோடேகூட வரும்படி அழைப்பியாமல் அம்மோன் புத்திரர்மேல் யுத்தம்பண்ணப்போனதென்ன? உன் வீட்டையும் உன்னையும்கூட அக்கினியால் சுட்டுப்போடுவோம் என்றார்கள். And the men of Ephraim gathered themselves together, and went northward, and said unto Jephthah, Wherefore passedst thou over to fight against the children of Ammon, and didst not call us to go with thee? we will burn thine house upon thee with fire.

Then Jephthah gathered together all the men of Gilead, and fought with Ephraim: and the men of Gilead smote Ephraim, because they said, Ye Gileadites are fugitives of Ephraim among the Ephraimites, and among the Manassites.

5 கீலேயாத்தியர் எப்பிராயீமருக்கு முந்தி யோர்தானின் துறைகளைப் பிடித்தார்கள்; அப்பொழுது எப்பிராயீமரிலே தப்பினவர்களில் யாராவது வந்து: நான் அக்கரைக்குப் போகட்டும் என்று சொல்லும்போது, கீலேயாத் மனுஷர்: நீ எப்பிராயீமனா என்று அவனைக் கேட்பார்கள்; அவன் அல்ல என்றால், And the Gileadites took the passages of Jordan before the Ephraimites: and it was so, that when those Ephraimites which were escaped said, Let me go over; that the men of Gilead said unto him, Art thou an Ephraimite? If he said, Nay;

Then said they unto him, Say now Shibboleth: and he said Sibboleth: for he could not frame to pronounce it right. Then they took him, and slew him at the passages of Jordan: and there fell at that time of the Ephraimites forty and two thousand.

8 அவனுக்குப்பின்பு பெத்லெகேம் ஊரானாகிய இப்சான் இஸ்ரவேலை நியாயம் விசாரித்தான். And after him Ibzan of Bethlehem judged Israel.

9 அவனுக்கு முப்பது குமாரரும் முப்பது குமாரத்திகளும் இருந்தார்கள்; முப்பது குமாரத்திகளையும் புறத்திலே விவாகம்பண்ணிக்கொடுத்து, தன் குமாரருக்கு முப்பது பெண்களைப் புறத்திலே கொண்டான்; அவன் இஸ்ரவேலை ஏழு வருஷம் நியாயம் விசாரித்தான். And he had thirty sons, and thirty daughters, whom he sent abroad, and took in thirty daughters from abroad for his sons. And he judged Israel seven years.

10 பின்பு இப்சான் மரித்து, பெத்லெதேமிலே அடக்கம்பண்ணப்பட்டான். Then died Ibzan, and was buried at Bethlehem.

12 பின்பு செபுலோனியனாகிய ஏலோன் மரித்து, செபுலோன் தேசமான ஆயலோன் ஊரில் அடக்கம்பண்ணப்பட்டான். And Elon the Zebulonite died, and was buried in Aijalon in the country of Zebulun.

14 அவனுக்கு நாற்பது குமாரரும் முப்பது பேரப்பிள்ளைகளும் இருந்தார்கள்; அவர்கள் எழுபது கழுதைகளின் மேல் ஏறுவார்கள்; அவன் இஸ்ரவேலை எட்டு வருஷம் நியாயம் விசாரித்தான். And he had forty sons and thirty nephews, that rode on threescore and ten ass colts: and he judged Israel eight years.

15 பின்பு பிரத்தோனியனான இல்லேலின் குமாரனாகிய அப்தோன் மரித்து, எப்பிராயீம் தேசத்தில் அமலேக்கியர் மலையிலிருக்கிற பிரத்தோனிலே அடக்கம் பண்ணப்பட்டான். And Abdon the son of Hillel the Pirathonite died, and was buried in Pirathon in the land of Ephraim, in the mount of the Amalekites.

1 Eppiraayeem manushar aekamaayk kooti vadakkae purappattuppoy, yepthaavai Nnokki: nee engalai unnotaekooda varumpati alaippiyaamal ammon puththirarmael yuththampannnapponathenna? Un veettaைyum unnaiyumkooda akkiniyaal suttuppoduvom entarkal. And the men of Ephraim gathered themselves together, and went northward, and said unto Jephthah, Wherefore passedst thou over to fight against the children of Ammon, and didst not call us to go with thee? we will burn thine house upon thee with fire.

2 Atharku yepthaa: enakkum en janaththirkum ammon puththirarotae periya valakku irukkumpothu, naan ungalaik kooppittaேn; neengal ennai avarkal kaikku neengalaakki ratchikkavillai. And Jephthah said unto them, I and my people were at great strife with the children of Ammon; and when I called you, ye delivered me not out of their hands.

3 Neengal ennai ratchikkavillai entu naan kanndapothu, naan en jeevanai en kaiyilae pitiththukkonndu, ammon puththirarukku virothamaayp ponaen; Karththar avarkalai en kaiyil oppukkoduththaar; ippatiyirukka, neengal en mael yuththampannna, intu ennidaththirku varavaenntiyathu enna entu sonnaan. And when I saw that ye delivered me not, I put my life in my hands, and passed over against the children of Ammon, and the LORD delivered them into my hand: wherefore then are ye come up unto me this day, to fight against me?

4 Pinpu yepthaa geelaeyaath manusharaiyellaam kootti, eppiraayeemarodu yuththam pannnninaan; eppiraayeemukkum manaasekkum naduvae kutiyirukkira geelaeyaaththiyaraana neengal eppiraayeemaivittu otipponavarkal entu eppiraayeemar sonnapatiyinaal, geelaeyaath manushar avarkalai muriya atiththaarkal. Then Jephthah gathered together all the men of Gilead, and fought with Ephraim: and the men of Gilead smote Ephraim, because they said, Ye Gileadites are fugitives of Ephraim among the Ephraimites, and among the Manassites.

5 Geelaeyaaththiyar eppiraayeemarukku munthi yorthaanin thuraikalaip pitiththaarkal; appoluthu eppiraayeemarilae thappinavarkalil yaaraavathu vanthu: naan akkaraikkup pokattum entu sollumpothu, geelaeyaath manushar: nee eppiraayeemanaa entu avanaik kaetpaarkal; avan alla ental, And the Gileadites took the passages of Jordan before the Ephraimites: and it was so, that when those Ephraimites which were escaped said, Let me go over; that the men of Gilead said unto him, Art thou an Ephraimite? 7 Yepthaa isravaelai aaraு varusham niyaayam visaariththaan; pinpu geelaeyaaththiyanaana yepthaa mariththu, geelaeyaaththilulla oru pattanaththil adakkam pannnappattan. And Jephthah judged Israel six years. Then died Jephthah the Gileadite, and was buried in one of the cities of Gilead.

8 Avanukkuppinpu pethlekaem ooraanaakiya ipsaan isravaelai niyaayam visaariththaan. And after him Ibzan of Bethlehem judged Israel.

9 Avanukku muppathu kumaararum muppathu kumaaraththikalum irunthaarkal; muppathu kumaaraththikalaiyum puraththilae vivaakampannnnikkoduththu, than kumaararukku muppathu pennkalaip puraththilae konndaan; avan isravaelai aelu varusham niyaayam visaariththaan. And he had thirty sons, and thirty daughters, whom he sent abroad, and took in thirty daughters from abroad for his sons. And he judged Israel seven years.

10 Pinpu ipsaan mariththu, pethlethaemilae adakkampannnappattan. Then died Ibzan, and was buried at Bethlehem.

11 Avanukkuppinpu sepuloniyanaakiya aelon isravaelai niyaayam visaariththaan; avan paththu varusham isravaelai niyaayam visaariththaan. And after him Elon, a Zebulonite, judged Israel; and he judged Israel ten years.

12 Pinpu sepuloniyanaakiya aelon mariththu, sepulon thaesamaana aayalon ooril adakkampannnappattan. And Elon the Zebulonite died, and was buried in Aijalon in the country of Zebulun.

13 Avanukkuppinpu illaelin kumaaranaakiya piraththoniyanaana apthon isravaelai niyaayam visaariththaan. And after him Abdon the son of Hillel, a Pirathonite, judged Israel.

14 Avanukku naarpathu kumaararum muppathu paerappillaikalum irunthaarkal; avarkal elupathu kaluthaikalin mael aeraுvaarkal; avan isravaelai ettu varusham niyaayam visaariththaan. And he had forty sons and thirty nephews, that rode on threescore and ten ass colts: and he judged Israel eight years.

15 Pinpu piraththoniyanaana illaelin kumaaranaakiya apthon mariththu, eppiraayeem thaesaththil amalaekkiyar malaiyilirukkira piraththonilae adakkam pannnappattan. And Abdon the son of Hillel the Pirathonite died, and was buried in Pirathon in the land of Ephraim, in the mount of the Amalekites.
