செத்தவர்கள் நிமித்தம் உண்டான துக்கத்தை ஆற்ற அவர்களுக்கு அப்பம் பங்கிடப்படுவதுமில்லை; ஒருவனுடைய தகப்பனுக்காவது, ஒருவனுடைய தாய்க்காவது துக்கப்படுகிறவர்களுக்குத் தேற்றரவின் பாத்திரத்தைக் குடிக்கக்கொடுப்பாருமில்லை.

மரித்தவர்களுக்காக அழுகிறவர்களுக்கு எவரும் உணவு கொண்டு வரமாட்டார்கள். தம் தாயையோ தந்தையையோ இழந்தவர்களுக்கு எவரும் ஆறுதல் சொல்லமாட்டார்கள். மரித்தவர்களுக்காக அழுகின்றவர்களுக்கு எவரும் குடிக்கவும் கொடுக்கமாட்டார்கள்.

இறந்தோரை எண்ணித் துக்கம் கொண்டாடுகிறவனுக்கு ஆறுதல் அளிக்க, அப்பம் தருவார் யாருமிரார். தாய் அல்லது தந்தைக்காகத் துக்கம் கொண்டாடுகிறவனுக்கு ஆறுதலின் கிண்ணத்தில் பருகக் கொடுக்கவும் யாருமிரார்.

Seththavarkal nimiththam unndaana thukkaththai aatta avarkalukku appam pangidappaduvathumillai; oruvanutaiya thakappanukkaavathu, oruvanutaiya thaaykkaavathu thukkappadukiravarkalukkuth thaettaravin paaththiraththaik kutikkakkoduppaarumillai.
